A lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff and good comfortable rooms.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and had a very nice 'superior sea view' room. The room was modern, comfortable and always supplied with fresh linen and cleaned thoroughly each day. The room also had a sizeable balcony overlooking the pool area with gardens and the sea. The bathroom was also clean and modern, although only had a shower and no bath which we found surprising. For the last two nights of our stay we upgraded (albeit at some cost!) to the 'Red Suite' which was a spacious and equally well appointed room with a large jacuzzi bath.

The food was good, although not outstanding. There was a good choice at breakfast, which was self service, but if arriving later some items had run out and had not been replenished. The bar offered a limited but good quality selection of sandwiches during the day, although a tad pricey. The evening restaurant was also good, with a limited selection available each evening. However, we found we didn't want to eat in the hotel every night as food could become samey.

The outdoor pool area is very attractive with plenty of sun loungers available, although it was out of season. Slightly frustrating was the indoor pool which, being attached to the spa, has €30 pp entrance fee for 2 hours. This would have been fine but we were not informed of this before our stay.

The main downside with this hotel is its location which is not ideally suited to tourists. The buses into the city are infrequent and there are limited places to eat / drink in the local area. For this reason, I probably wouldn't return.

We arrived earlier than check-in and still got very cosy room with terrace.
Hotel is clean. Bathroom was old, but still clean.
Personnel in hotel almost is not talking English- but very helpful. I have read about troubles in hotel, i would strongly disagree: Wifi was fast; towels changed daily;
Pool/beach just gorgeous. We spent there 4 days, requested some extra towels/sheets and hotel did not charged anything in addition, as some visitors have mentioned.

Breakfast was tasty for classic scrambled egg and classic bacon.
Italian dolce is not traditional and not impressed.

Taxi from hotel to centre is ~ 20€ one way.
2 buses: 534 and 902 are going quite often, all schedules can be obtained from hotel.
I recommend this hotel for calm relaxation.

This hotel is a very short, very easy drive from Catania airport, which was what we needed after our trip from Washington DC. The reception staff must have seen the jet lag in our faces: they were incredibly helpful from the start.
Our room was airy, clean, and large with a sitting area and deck overlooking the pool and sea beyond (the deck was not large enough for sitting, but opened out from the sitting area). Wifi was included and immediately accessible, which allowed us to let everyone know we had arrived safely. By the time we arrived and got settled, however, the pool had closed but we were able to go for a refreshing swim in the sea using one of several access areas just steps from the pool area. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant (l’Oleandro) and must say that it was one of the best meals we had in Sicily. I ordered a cherry tomato, basil, and onion salad as side dish that to this day has not been replicated. The tomatoes were so sweet and flavorful that my husband and I called them fake and throughout the trip we evaluated tomatoes as to how close they came the “fake” ones we had at Baia.
The hotel was very quiet so allowed for a great night of sleep. The only negative was the breakfast ambiance. This is a large hotel and breakfast is where it shows. The breakfast buffet was good, although not spectacular, but there was always a line to access popular buffet items and you had to work to flag down wait staff to get espresso based drinks since they were busy clearing tables to make room for others. There is, however, a small outdoor seating area with beautiful views where we ate to get away from the morning crowd.
Overall, it was the perfect stay for our first night in Sicily.

The place was beautiful, both in itself and the location, especially on a sunny day, the pool and the ability to go into the sea was a gem. However, the place was outdated and noisy in the room from other rooms, especially from use of water. We also ended up in a room that stank of smoke, even though we asked for a no smoking room. The place, due to its set up, has a lot of one of two steps, so possibly not great for those with a lot of bags or disable. The hotel is also very large, and one can be walking for a long time to get to the room, which we had to. Otherwise, great service. Breakfast was OK - the spread was decent with a large selection of bread, but no cut fresh fruit, and hot food needed some poking to be topped up.

Dear Guest,
We are glad that you enjoy the location of our hotel and we hope you will come back again soon.
Maybe next time, to be happy also with your room, you should take another kind of room because after the recent renovation in almost all the rooms, only the 20% of the total rooms are not brand new and we categorize these rooms as “Standard” selling them with a lower rates also for this reason.
Both in our website and on the online travel agency, it’s possible to see the pictures of every single rooms that show the difference between them, so it’s up to you the choice of which room is better for your needs.
Actually our Hotel has rooms also for disable people that are very easy to reach and referring to the bags, we offer the bellboy service, so next time just ask for this service and we will be happy to help you.
Comments from our guest are always welcome to help us to improve our services so we would like to thank you for your time and for your feedback.

Best Regards

We stayed at this Hotel by default as the one booked was having building works done. It was great. Staff were friendly & helpful, breakfast had an extensive choice. Evening meal was delicious.
My room was large, clean with immaculate linen & towels. I had no sea view but only had to walk along a corridor to be in the great pool area.

No complaints at all

Where do I begin? Outdated hotel in need of renovation - constant noise from other rooms and cleaners in the hallways. No wi-fi in most rooms, and when you do get wi-fi, you need a new 15 digit code every 12 hours!!! The in room safe broke twice. Breakfast was awful! It is supposedly served between 7am and 10am, but turn up at 9am and there is nothing left. And no, they don't replenish the hot food once it's all gone! Worst of all was the horrid chemical smell in the breakfast room! Enough to put you off your food!! Rude staff, who just shrug their shoulders if you report a problem. The indoor bar was not open, but the "American Bar" at the pool was open, meaning you had to run across the pool area in thunderstorms and rain if you wanted a drink. Just save yourself the hassle and don't stay here! You will be in for lots of disappointment!!

Dear Guest,
Actually we have just finished a recent renovation in almost all the rooms.
We categorize the rooms that are not brand new ( only the 20% of the total rooms) as standard type and we sell this rooms with a lower rates.
By our side we think to be transparent with our potential clients, both in our website and on the online travel agency, it’s possible to see the pictures an to read the description of every single rooms that show the differences between them, so it’s up to you the choice of which room is better for you.
The room that you chose is a standard type, so It’s not true that we need to renovate the rooms but maybe next time you should book another kind of room.
Actually Internet covers the entire Hotel, you can surf the web also on the rocky beach.
Wi-fi service is free to all the guests, we give a daily code that last 12 hours just to avoid to overload the line. Then, when the code expires, it’s always possible to ask a new codes.
We always beef the breakfast up till the end of the time and usually our guests are satisfied by the quality of our Breakfast.
Regarding the bar outside, if the weather is bad we usually open the other bar inside, but we think that is better for our guests to have the bar near the pool and the beach during Summer time.
Anyway we are continually striving to improve the hospitality we offer, and comments from our guests are always welcome that’s why we would like to thank you for your feedback.
Best Regards
