- Stayed there in June for one week, great hospitality and food. Stayed in the Giotto room which is pretty small and has no windows.
- The distance from the highway exit is actually more like 25 minutes (and not 10 minutes as the websire says) and over a very bad unsealed road with big potholes.
- To Florence (centre of town) it is a good 35 miniute drive, add another 15 miniutes if you catch the morning rush hour whjere trafiic is very bad and chaotic (have to love the italian scooter drivers and bicycle riders).
- WiFi is not working in all rooms and drops out regularly
- This is most probably not so well suired for couples but more for famillies with children

7 nights in a same resort were first time for us, but we were very happy with the service personnel and room set-up.We booked half-board and every dinner has been very enjoyable for us.
also the breakfast were fresh and healthy than what we expected!
don't forget bring your swimsuit and Camera to keep wonderful memories.....

Room Tip: just tell the owner what do you want for the suitable of your demand.

A bit nicer than your average "agriturismo" it's more like a bed and breakfast.

Breathtaking views over the hills, close to Florence, easy access to A1, making it a wonderful base for touring around.

Breakfast is simple but just enough....delicious fresh juice and jams, yogurt, fruit, breads...

Dinner is divine...and a fantastic value for the plentiful and scrumptious feast of several courses lasting well over an hour!

The pool is wonderful with breathtaking views....our kids spent hours enjoying it and I could relax and delight in the beautiful surroundings!

Our rooms were cozy and very Tuscan country feeling... One small issue - ants in the bathroom- was addressed immediately... extremely comfortable beds, very good quality new clean towels....personal and gracious service....

One small note- I would enjoy the fresh air in our bedroom, but the presence of bugs (as with any country location, not just here) made it necessary to keep windows closed and ac on... The ac is a big plus as other places do not always have it, but I wonder if window screens might make open windows an option as well... Really not a big deal- I'm just a fresh air fan, but you get plenty of it here during the day outside at the pool and while feasting on amazing dinners!

Overall, Il Castellucio was beautiful, service was excellent, food was some of the best I've ever tasted, rooms were comfortable... I do not hesitate to recommend it and would definitely stay again!

5 of us stayed here in May 2012, the location is amazing, isolated, quiet but still close enough to Barberino, the food was sensational. We had the honeymoon suite fantastic room with great views. An excellent place to stay and would highly recommend it to any one. Dont miss this one. quie

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days in May 2012. The place is amazing. The views are spectacular. The food was awesome and the host was most accommodating. Ask about the cooking lessons. You can not find a nicer place to stay at. If we can an opportunity to go back, I will be staying here.
