One of my favourite places for a great STEAK! Exceptional taste and presentation, you simply must see for yourself!

A quick business lunch and half a tonne of Florentine steak later I agree with many of your reviewers. Great steak, beautifully rare and on a sizzling hot plate to keep it warm. Plenty of restaurants serve rare steak on lukewarm crockery and the meat is cold - not this one. They know their art. It's not posh but they filled the place on a Tuesday lunchtime.
Final plus point - they served meat with spuds. That's it. No irrelevant wispy salad, no veg, nothing. You could get it of course but why bother?
A top place.

We stopped overnight on our trip from Augsburg, Germany to Rome. Choose a hotel near the freeway and asked the desk clerk for a restaurant recommendation. Next door to the hotel is Cosimo di Medici, Michelin rated. It was extraordinary. We wanted soup, a glass of wine and bed. The Tuscan appetizer plate included crostini with pate to die for. When I told the waiter how good I found it, he brought another plate with pate crostini and a smile. The second plate did not appear on our bill. The faro soup and onion soup where fantastic. But, had we been hungry, everyone, and I do mean everyone ordered florentine steaks for their table, and we would have done the same. The waiters expertly sliced the steaks, moved them to sizzling hot plates which were sprinkled with olive oil and salt. Fried artichokes looked great as well and were popular. The desert cart, well, let's just say it was a higlight. House wine was great. When travelling back north to visit our son in Augsburg we will make a point of stopping here.

I have been coming here for a few years now and although it's not as excellent as it used to be , its still very good.
The restaurant is always very busy and you may even have to queue at the busiest times. The service is always very efficient even when they are full. Had the pappardelle to start and they were delicious. Followed this with a Fiorentina, comes on a plate so hot that it seals the pieces of steak .Very good food , worth a visit if youre nearby.
