“A great slice of Sicily under Mt Etna”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

We have just finished our stay here. We have travelled in Italy for almost a month and this is the loveliest accommodation - great sized rooms and bathrooms, friendly service and views over the vineyards. we would highly recommend Feudo Vagliasindi. They have just completed a pool - so there is now the opportunity to swim on a hot summers day looking up at Etna.

It is so amazing to look up at Etna from the terrace. If you want to get off the tourist trail, then make sure to come here. The nearby Randazzo is a great little town with a historic centre and beautiful church. Try and pop in to the church service on a Sunday.

What a wonderful villa. We traveled the 2nd week of March and when we arrived we were the only ones staying. It was like having our own Italian Villa. The room was spacious and tastefully done with a Juliet Balcony facing the hills and vineyards’ to the north. The food was great. The service top notch and we really relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. We travel with our dog Pixie and she had a ball and would recommend to her four legged buddies. Corrado and Paolo were the best of hosts. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel, and couldn't fault a thing. By Italian standards this place is 5*, our room was lovely with fantastic views out over the mountains and all the fittings we could have wanted. The only thing that could be improved on is somewhere to sit/lie and relax other than the terrace area - but they are already sorting that with the addition of a pool, we will be back when it is complete! The wine made on site is fantastic, and a tour around the cellar is definitely worth it.

When we drove into the driveway we were taken aback by just how stunning the property and surrounding area are!

The views from the terrace (the front of the hotel) look onto Mount Etna and the back of the property also has picturesque views.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was relatively easy to find given that there are several signposts just as you leave town.

The owners are currently constructing a swimming pool which should be ready in a few months by all accounts. The pool will be at the front of the property and will also have views of Mount Etna.

We ate in the hotel restaurant on the night we stayed given we were too tired to drive anywhere else and really enjoyed the food and wine.

The hotel is a little remote so guests will need a car but in our minds that is more of a positive than a negative as you are then able to stay in such a peaceful and serene location and well away from the main drag.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

This is the best place to stay! The owners have thought of everything in the construction with attention to detail. We spent 5 delightful nights here and hated to leave. It is the best managed and operated villa in Sicily! The location is perfect for exploring the northern Etna region with day trips to interesting surrounding villages very easy. The breakfast is bountiful and they have the best cornetti anywhere. The staff is very professional and friendly and they will do anything to make your stay perfect; WIFI reception in our room was a bit iffy, not really a problem, but Corrado insisted in placing a router booster in the hall right outside our room! THAT is service! We will return here anytime we are in Sicily. They are adding a swimming pool, but it not yet finished.

I spent a weekend with a group of friends in Feudo Vagliasindi. Our expectations of this agriturismo were not only met but also exceeded. The tranquil setting, right at the foot of Mt Etna on the north side, the surrounding viineyards, the impeccable hotel and last but not least the hospitality of the owners and the staff; made our stay a memorable one. To our surprise, we were given a suite which had two spacious bedrooms and a comfortable bathroom.
Sipping coffee on the large terrace early in the morning with a fantastic view of Mt Etna and the strolls in the surrounding countryside will remain etched in my memory.
If you are looking for an agriturismo in the north-east side of Sicily, look no more. I highly recommend this agriturismo. And make sure you ask for a tour of the old winery and huge wooden casks. Worth seeing.

Room Tip: Suite would be excellent for a family of four.

Feudo Vagliasindi is truly a hidden gem. We stayed here at the end of our honeymoon in late April. We would have never found this secluded and UBER-romantic place if a restaurant owner we met in Taormina hadn’t recommended it to us. We arrived about 1pm and had the largest and best lunch of our lives – a four-course feast where the antipasti plate was a meal in itself, and also the best antipasti we ever had. The wine from the grapes in the vineyard outside and winery on property was outstanding, and dinner was off the charts. The prices were reasonable; we spent 75 Euro for an amazing dinner including a nice bottle of the wine. Monte Etna erupted when we were Taormino, so we were curious to get a closer look. Feudo Vagliasindi has an insane view of Monte Etna and is on the quiet side of the mountain, where there are far less tourists, which is what we wanted, a place to chill. The whole area is gorgeous. This place is ideal for a long romantic weekend. The owners are two brothers that are totally cool and great hosts. Make sure you ask Paolo for a tour of the 200 year old winery on the first floor - it’s in pristine, museum-like condition. It is like walking into a time warp seeing the perfectly preserved historic winery in this elegantly restored Villa. The rooms are large, clean, and modern – the whole place was completely remodeled two years ago, and they had an amazing architect and designer. The attention to every detail is incredible and they spared no expense. If you want a romantic place to kick back, drink nice red wine, enjoy the outdoors, see Mount Etna up close, and sleep in an amazing multi-million dollar Villa and be spoiled for a few days, stay here. You won’t be disappointed. We hope to get back soon.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms have amazing views - room 203 was excellent - but we didn't see other room...
