“Excellent meals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

We ate at the restaurant for the first time on 22nd September and enjoyed it so much we ate again on the 24th the last night of our holidays. Jaime was a perfect host as was the waitress, didn't get her name.
Food was excellent on both nights and it was nice to eat in a more intimate location than eating out in the street restaurants.
Find some of the more recent negative comments very strange.

“Don't go here”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

We hunted the restaurant out, but wish we had not bothered. After good relieves we were looking forward to our meal. We were seated and given menu. We ordered wine and water and we're ready to order but no one came, when the one waiting staff walked by she kept avoiding us. The restaurant was plain and a bit tatty, but we waited in anticipation and waited and waited!!!! We looked round the busy restaurant and no one had any food and there was no smell of cooking. After a while a van stopped outside and men carried in a gas canister presumably for cooking! Everyone was looking round and we spoke to another table they had been there an hour and a quarter and had had no food. We had already drank our wine and water so we called the girl over. Who got a man from the back and he asked us what we would like to eat! We had been there 50 mins we told him we just wanted the bill. We paid no one apologised or explained. They should not have opened in the circumstances or at least explained and given bread or something cold on the menu while we waited and everyone would have been happy. Terrible place and staff be warned!

“devoid of atmosphere”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

we went here on a recent holiday after reading positive reviews on tripadvisor. what a disappointment!
the restaurant is in a lovely setting (i think it's recently moved) but there is absolutely no atmosphere at all. at one point it felt like we'd gate-crashed a wake! the owner/manager chap has a very obvious dislike for brits (but he loves germans!!). he practically slammed the plates down on our table and wasn't at all amiable. the waitress just looked frightened!

the starter was lovely (quails breast salad) but the meal went steadily downhill from there. main course was tasteless (veal in an insipid beige sauce) and the pudding was ok.

not a place to rave about and certainly not one to recommend. i'd sooner throw all my ethics and morals out the window and go to burger king!!!

My dear Ladie:
What a wonderfull tale....I will give you my own now....
Saturday before last a table for four ( 3 young Ladies and a youg Gentlemen) came in pretty late so the people in the restaurant started to pay and leave.....so they were left on their own.....exactly when their meal seems to have got dawn.....
Once finished the meal one of the young ladies came to the Bar and started talking to me for over 20 minutes ( I am not amiable....?????...)
She was upset because she couldn`t find locals in any of the restaurants she went to and fed up of seeing mostly British around......I tried to explain the Spanish people situation ......but she kept going saying that she had come to Spain to see Spanish.....not English....
Hopefully this young Ladie has been able to sleep better after attaching her dislikes on her own country people to me.....if not I don`t see the point....
Do you know who that young Ladie was?
Kindly yours:
Jaime

had a fantastic time, food, setting and service second to none. It really is worth finding this little gem of a place. In a word this place is wonderful. Find it just off a back street near hells kitchen.

“Stylish food and service for lovely Spanish treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

Beautiful 3 course , set evening menu ( 20E) , with great choice for all lovers of Spanish food in pretty courtyard with tenderly cared for grape vines and flowering plants. I had rabbit casserole after garlic prawn starter , followed by a dessert that was something I had never eaten and am not going to disclose what it was as you need to just go there! The front of O Lume gives no indication of the courtyard at the rear and reckon book it after a wander around the day before. This family run place will have Siller bothered if it gets the hype it deserves as I think they do not know how good they are and how TA could matter.
