“Great Hotel, wonderful location and friendly staff”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

My wife and I enjoyed our first trip to the Pollentia having booked a week through Thompsons. As advised ny others on thei board it is worth paying the extra to get a front bedroom with sea view and balcony.
We have been to other hotels in Majorca and can say that this is the best. The choice and quality of food was amazing. The waether was very warm but for those who cannot stay in the sun all day there are plenty of shaded areas around the inside and outside of the hotel to feel comfortable. The location of the hotel being about 15 minutes walk from the centre is ideal which makes it reasonably quiet. One nice touch on our last night was to be served two glasses of champagne. We thought the waiters had got our order wrong until they explained that it was a thank you from the hotel for our last night.
One thing to note, albeit it didn't really concern me, was the absence of a refrigerator and facilties to make tea /coffee.
We will certainly be booking again!

Room Tip: Pay extra for a front room with sea view - it's worth it!

What a joy it was to come back to this great hotel. We were there in early - mid June, and although the weather wasn't great to start with, it got better! The hotel didn't have to get better as it was already terrific and we were so pleased that our memory of it was enhanced on our second stay.
It was good to see the improvements that had been made - the new swimming pool and the new layout for lunches which can now be taken in a number of locations. However, it is still difficult for anyone with disabilities - lots of steps and no slopes.
We were so pleased though to see that there had been no alteration to the public rooms which are light, airy and comfortable - please don't change them!
Our double room on the first floor was excellent, clean and tidy, with good maid service.
The restaurant and bar staff were excellent and helpful and friendly - especially Miguel, Jesus and Paco. Paco is also the new restaurant manager and he couldn't have done the job any better than he did. He was a hero!
Breakfast choices were very good but unfortunately the hot items were often not very hot - this shouldn't be too difficult to put right permanently with the heated containers. Dinner was as good as our memories served us with plenty of choice in both hot & cold dishes. The soups were wonderful. Puddings were pretty and we loved the decoration on the main buffet table - vegetable animals!
Manolo and Miguel on reception were most helpful answering any queries.
It was a really great return to the hotel and without doubt we shall visit it again. Thank you!

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Very good quality & choice at breakfast which could be enjoyed outside. Room we had was very clean and had everything you need like a good shower but quite average, investment in rooms would make this an even better hotel. Lovely terrace to sit and relax on and have a drink.

A very good hotel ......Nice staff ...good food.....One problem was that we had to wait until 8pm for Dinner to get a table for the first 3 nights

Good location opposite the beach and within walking distance of town centre...God bus service to Palma. Pollentia . Alcudia etc....Unfortunately the weather was mixed in late May..however we still had a nice holiday.

Room Tip: Sea view room essential

Returned to this hotel for the second time for two weeks in June. Delighted to find that we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Hotel retains its charm with the level of service excellent. A special, mention to the maids who were very efficient and always cheerful and the reception staff always happy to help with enquiries, being both knowledgable and helpful. The food, although not an extensive range has improved noticeably from two years ago. The table allocation system works very well. On a number of occasions we noticed that gentleman were wearing shorts at dinner, although there is a written notice to the contrary.

The new swimming pool is a nice addition, and perhaps the hotel could consider a beach towel service.

The location is absolutely excellent and the hotel and resort has a nice relaxed atmosphere.

We WILL return.

They say you get what you pay for. Hotel Pollentia is a tale of two halves. First off, this might be the best located hotel in the whole town, it's 10 mins walk from the centre so it's nice and peaceful and yes, from your room to beyou'll just use the sea.n the beautiful sea you're talking 60 seconds and for most of us that's probably all we need!

There are some negatives but nothing awful: The rooms are crummy, stiff beds, run down condition but again they're ok. The food is the biggest disappointment. The breakfast is actually not bad, good selection of breads, cheeses etc.. but the hotplate stuff is pretty low quality (would you like hot runner beans or sweetcorn with your fried egg and rubbish bacon?) We went half board so.......dinner.....bad, bad, bad. We went to dinner once and only went back to look and see if it had improved! Basically it's a poor quality self service canteen. If you're happy just having salad then you'll be fine but the rest of the stuff on offer was pretty bleurgh.

Other things:
Sign says 'for security please lock windows when leaving room' so we do, every single day we return to find the maid has put them wide open - cheers!

Staff on the whole are really pleasant and helpful.

I wouldn't use again but it's not bad.

Great location, right across the road from the beach. Pool small and clinical, not inviting to sit round. Room small and dated, so normally wouldn't return but the staff were so amicable, everything was spotlessly clean and the food was good, so we would return for those reasons. Updating rooms would be a good investment but again, we have had bad holidays in much better looking hotels so....!!!

Room Tip: Not telling you because you might beat us to them ;)
