We wanted a night out of kids on our vacation while in Palma, so we had a day on boat trip leaving from Pollenca and needed a room to stay. We choose this hotel because of their reviews in tripadvisor and I may say that it didn't disaponit us.
I was clean, reception was fast, internet was working properly and breakfast was very good,
is close to everything on the port on a walking distance, and we could even walk to our boat>>>
the only down I found is parking. coming from a country where parking is not a problem and most hotels have their own parking, it was for me a little uncomfortable to leave car few blocks from hotel... but, I guess this is Europe!

My first experience at half board having always gone self catering, what a place to start the Daina Hotel was fantastic, food both breakfast and evening meal was delicious with plenty of choice to suit all tastes, room was good and clean, staff were friendly and knowledgable. The pool area and bar was fantastic and so clean. A thoroughly enjoyable experience both in the hotel and the destination, we will definitely be returning :))))

This hotel is well situated in the Port near the Marina and the area out front is pedestrianised keeping noise to a minimum. Our room was large enough for two, had an efficient shower with a bath too, effective air conditioning, a safe, and a fridge. The cleaning staff were efficient. Unusually the TV in our room offered BBC1 which enabled us to watch Andy Murray win Wimbledon and watch the news each day which was comforting! We had a breakfast only option so ate our evening meals in the restaurants in the port which are very good. The breakfast each day was well presented, had a wide choice of options available including fresh fruit, a variety of pastries, and excellent bacon and fried eggs. Staff were courteous and effective in the restaurant and our seats on the balcony gave us the chance to watch the port coming to life each morning with a fabulous view across the bay.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea view as the alternative is overlooking a busy main road at the rear of e ho...

Stayed for a week at the end of May. Reception staff helpful but I could not access the wifi the hotel was supposed to have. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choices. Entertainment only being offered one night a week was disappointing. The singer on the one night was good however. Pool area under some renovations which was disappointing as part it it was unusable. Wearer was unusually cool, so did not use pool that much. Towards the end of the week the repairs seemed to be finished. Overall a good hotel, but pricey for a single room. Nice big bathroom however and I was pleased to have fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, which are often not available in Spanish hotels.

Room Tip: Hotels on the front with full sea views the best. Single rooms are not available on the front.

Lucky enough to get the 6th floor and our terrace was amazing. The views were simply stunning !
The staff at the Daina are very friendly and helpful and this is the best placed hotel for all of the nightllife. Food was good and the terrace was brilliant for breakfast and dinner.
You can get breakfast from 8.00 till 11.00 and dinner from 7.00 till 10.00 which is great.
If you want to chill , or enjoy the local Bar scene ,this is the hotel for you.
Buses to all other resorts right on your doorstep.
We will DEFINITELY be going back.

There are many reviews of this hotel that go into great detail - I propose to keep it short and succinct.

We stayed 19th to 26th July 2013 on a half board basis.

Reception - Very well received and staff throughout our stay were very helpful. They even sorted out the lack of Wi-Fi reception on my phone.

Room - (309) a little on the small side but beautifully kept and with everything we needed. A lovely big bed with an evening 'turn down' service which we thought was a nice touch.

Restaurant - we booked half board anticipating going out to eat a few times, we didn't. The food here is so good and varied we ate here every evening, there was a great choice all of which was well presented, well cooked and plentiful.

Bar - wonderful location right on the beach. We went to 'recharge the batteries' and just relax and that is exactly what you can do here. All the bar staff are friendly, helpful and good at their job.

Overall - we loved this hotel and this holiday and we will stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view corner room - they are much bigger.

Spent 10 days at the Daina between 6 -16 July and it was brilliant! It was hot and fiesta week so just what we needed. Arrived at the hotel after 11pm, and was told by the splendid receptionist (sorry, I never did catch your name, but you were always very pleasant and helpful - as were all the staff) that we were on the highest floor in the hotel (following my request) and a meal awaited us there. A very nicely presented salad with assorted meats and cheeses and fruit - lovely. We then spent the next couple of hours at the beach party opening the week's festivities. Good way to start the holiday and it stayed that way for 10 days.

Our room was small - in fact I was initially worried about this as my OH is tall - but in the end it wasn't a problem because the terrace was huge with a sofa, coffee table and two sunbeds. There was an awning protecting half the terrace which we were grateful for as it was approx 35degrees most days and it gave some relief from the sun (never thought I'd be saying that after the weather we've had in Britain!). We virtually lived out there, so we only slept in the room. Only two gripes about the room - the air con definitely needs zapping up - it's almost useless in the heat of summer and there's no storage apart from the wardrobe. All the toiletries have to stay on the bathroom floor, as do bits and bobs in the bedroom. There's not a drawer or shelf in sight and it's a bit of a pain. It could easily be remedied and would make all the difference. It is a 4 star hotel after all!

Apart from that bit of pettyness, we could not fault the hotel (oh, the lift's a bit slow if you want to push it - both coming and going! And I don't mean 'push the lift!). We managed to time all our meals to get a table on the outdoor terrace and it was magical. If a table had just been vacated, the staff would immediately rush to clear and relay it and it was never a problem. The waiters were all very courteous, efficient and smiley. They really do a wonderful job, working long hours in tremendous heat. I would also add that Luis (sp?) the Maitre'd is a wonderful asset to the Daina. He keeps everything running calmly and smoothly, greets the guests and 'mucks in' when necessary - all with a smile.

The Food - well opinion on here seems divided, apart from all agreeing breakfast is exemplary. Every taste and nationality is covered from full English, continental, pastries, fruit, various yoghurts etc etc. Even the juice is a better class of juice than other hotels I have stayed in. The evening buffet is, imo, excellent. It is, by and large, a euro buffet which caters for all tastes - it has to by virtue of cost. If you want authentic Spanish/Catalan food there are many excellent restaurants about, but the Daina does an excellent job of appealing to all tastes, whilst incorporating 'theme nights' in a subtle way which gives a tasting of different nationalitie's foods. I was impressed, and I might add, that on the nights we eat outside the hotel, you could opt to transfer your evening meal for a packed lunch, which again was more than substantial.

All in all, I would say this is a most excellent hotel catering mainly, but not wholly, to couples. There were families with young children and some teenagers, but there is no laid on entertainment for children and young people, so this would have to be taken into consideration. However, there is an excellent pool area and across the pedestrian area to the beach. Who could wish for anything more?

PP is a magical place and staying in this hotel, in the room we had, added to the ambience of the place. Thank you to all the staff at the Daina - you do it just right. We will be back.

Room Tip: High floor near the front of the hotel, or seaview front room. Front will loose the sun by mid afte...
