Just returned from hotel uyal nice and clean hotel staff very nice only complaint was that we where in room 162 with balcony but you couldn't see over it if sitting down we asked for a move but they couldn't guarantee a balcony we had paid extra for sea view which it was but restricted. Food was nice but a bit more selection I like salad so there was always something I could enjoy and some dishes cooked fresh. More variety of fish would have been nice. We enjoyed our stay and had good weather considering it was middle of October, quiet area of the resort which suited us but I would think in summer months very busy. good bus service and within walking distance of all the restaurants and cafes.

Room Tip: if in room 162 get cushions from the room and stack them on the chairs so you can see over the balcony.

My Husband and I have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Puerto Pollensa, staying at the lovely Hotel Uyal!

The hotel has a 'traditional' feel to it, with a beautiful arched frontage and palm tree lined garden area. A lovely pool, although a little cold for us - we preferred to swim in the ocean anyhow!!
From the moment we checked in we felt at home (thanks to Christina for everything - nothing was too much trouble); and we had a fabulous (recently renovated, as all the rooms are) room with balcony and 'side' sea view.......which, unlike some of the other reviews below, we felt provided ample view (see photos).

Beautiful en-suite bathrooms in the rooms; with fantastic walk-in showers and complete with lovely toiletries and bathrobes; ensured our comfort.....and the beds were very good too!!

Breakfast was a buffet affair - with EVERYTHING that you could wish for; from cereals and fruit juices, fresh fruit, breads, pastries, ham (both cooked and serrano), cheese and a full selection of cooked items.....probably one of the best breakfasts at any European establishment that I have visited! (We had booked on a B&B basis, and therefore, did not eat at the hotel for dinner; but I believe this was a buffet too).

Evening entertainment was provided at the hotel; but unfortunately, we didn't manage to get back in time for any of this.....as it started at 21:00hrs (and I think, only ran for about an hour or so). However, as there was quite a large proportion of elderly guests, perhaps this was to accommodate them?!!

Although check out was at 11.30a.m. on the day that we were leaving; and we weren't being picked up until 5.30p.m., the staff were fantastic - allowing us to leave our cases behind the desk; and even keeping our passports secure for us until it was time to leave - which saved us having to worry about anything....allowing us to enjoy our last few hours!

Some recent reviews have mentioned the location as being a 'negative'......how this can be true, I don't know!! Hotel Uyal is, granted, at the other end of Pollensa Bay from the famous 'Pine Walk'; but it is only approximately 10-15 minutes walk into the centre where all the restaurants are - and a walk along the beautiful promenade right next to the beach at that!

Speaking of beach......from the front door of the hotel - cross the road and you're there! You can't get much better than that!!

We very much enjoyed our holiday at Hotel Uyal; and can guarantee that we will be back!!

We spent 7 nights here and loved it. Warm welcome on arrival from Cristina, we had a suite with a sea view, lovely decor and a fabulous huge and very comfy bed. Lots of hanging space in wardrobes but not many drawers for our smalls . Food lovely and plentiful and friendly staff. Loved the location by the beach, perfect for what we wanted out of our break. Will be back x

We stayed for ten days at this hotel in September and paid extra for a room with balcony with sea view. We were very disappointed to find that we were at the side of the annexe with the main part of the balcony looking into the wall of a building and the view of the sea very limited. Two other couples were in the same situation and were very disappointed as they too had paid extra. When we complained at reception we were told that we did have sea view and the only other room with a view had not balcony and a small window which was too high up to see without standing on something. I don't mind taking pot luck with rooms when I have paid the basic rate but not when paying extra for something. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Make sure you know that you are getting a proper sea view if you pay extra.

We would like to thank you for reviewing Hoposa Uyal and for giving us the opportunity to extend our management response. At Hoposa Uyal it is a fact that not all rooms have the same sea view as it all depends on the specific location and distribution. Despite the fact that a great number of rooms have amazing views of the bay it does not mean that the rest of it do not have view of the sea, one way or the other. And this is exactly what guests are requested to pay in case they want a sea view. Fortunately the hotel features an incredible location in front of Puerto Pollensa’s bay with amazing views.

We have just returned from a fortnight at the Uyal. Generally a nice hotel and the room we had did have a good walk in shower as we had requested. However, the room appeared to be above the kitchen so if you opened the window the smell of cooking was horrible and if you could cope with that the noise from the extractors was very loud indeed. The air conditioning was just adequate ( late Sept/Oct) so would be totally inadequate in the height of summer. Cant understand why when asking to upgrade to a room with balcony and intending to pay the surcharge direct to the hotel told that this is not possible because we had booked with jet 2. Also the sight of a hose dangling in front of your bathroom window dripping water every day was not too inspiring.
Also agree with comments re dining room , lighting too bright and much like a canteen. Too much rushing around by waiting staff and too noisy!! Also feel that in a 4 star hotel they should at least set up tables for breakfast and bring tea and coffee to you. Have stayed in less starred hotels in Pine Walk where this service was always available. All in all an Ok hotel but its location for us was too far out with no atmosphere whatsoever in the local area unlike the Pine Walk and avoid Room 169 unless you want to know what you are eating several hours before you have it.

Room Tip: Do not have room 169!

Dear Customer, first of all thank you very much to take the time writing your review.Your opinion always help us to improve our standarts of service and we will take them into consideration. I can understand that you wish to had an upgrade to a seaview room but the Hotel was completely full and it was no seaview rooms available. At the Uyal all staff work hard to ensure the guest satisfaction , we do not mind which way you book, we mind YOU. We can only hope you can give us another chance to prove it.
