Stayed at hotel for 7 nts. Welcomed with a glass of cava by a most courteous manager. Hotel decor very modern, but very pleasing to the eye. Breakfast perfect. We had room no 306, which was in a good location, with a walkin shower. Roof terrace with jacuzzi. Will return.

Room Tip: Room 306 or any on formentor road.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Mar Calma. Excellent location, close to beach and to the Square which both have an abundunce of good quality restaurants and bars. The hotel was very modern and minimalist, best suited to couples. Rooms clean and comfortable. Particuarly enjoyed the complimentary glass of cava and strawberries delivered to our room on arrival. We stayed in room 307 which had an end street facing balcolny, good for watching the world go by!! The roof top terrace and hot tub was a sun trap and a nice place to chill out. Breakfast was relaxed, as the hotel has only 20 rooms, there was never any hussle and bussle that you find with larger hotels. Would recommend trying a "Menu of the day" at many of the nearby restaurants, you pay anything from 10-20 euros each for a good quality 3 course meal, and sometimes a drink is included. Would recommend Ca'n Joseph opposite the beach or Maxim restaurant and Centric in the square. Nice place for cocktails was Resto Buddah Bar. We hired bikes one day from Go2Go for just 7 euros each and cycled along the cycle paths into Alcudia old town. Would recommend this hotel for value and comfort.

Room Tip: Room 307 was nice as it was on the end.

Hotel Mar Calma is a great new and clean hotel in the centre of Port de Pollenca. It is just one block away from the boulevard and has a contemporary design. Rooms are spacious (we stayed in a balcony room, 104) and despite being on a busy road not very noisy (note that on the other side there are a few pubs which might produce a lot of noise during high season!). It has a rain shower, aircon and flat screen Tv (incl. German and Uk channels like ITV and BBC). Breakfast is Ok with a few local items, cereals, juices, bacon & eggs, etc. Coffee temperature needs to be improved! On the roof you can find a sun deck and a jacuzi. Free fast wifi available in all rooms.
Receptionists were all very friendly, very helpful and speak English fluently. Upon arrival we were served champange in our room! Right next to the hotel you will find a handy small supermarket and an ATM machine. Many bars and restaurant within walking distance and even a nice market right behind the hotel on wednesdays. Free car parking is about 3 blocks away from the hotel. The hotel is just about an hour drive from Palma and about 15 min from Alcudia. A great start too for a (bike) ride to Cap Formentor. Would definitely stay here again! Good value for money.

What more can I say. I read the previous reviews on here and thought I'd give it a try, it sounded so good. Well it is even better than my expectations. On arrival we were greeted by Carlos who then and all though our stay was so kind and helpful. He sent a welcome drink to our room whilst we were unpacking. The room was very boutique, but ideal. The breakfast was fresh and service in the mornings by Haido (sorry about the spelling) who was so lovely and helpful. The roof terrace with jaccuzzi was great for the sun and very relaxing. The central location was just right and though we didn't have a swimming pool we were only minutes from the beach. On our last morning we had to leave for the airport a 7am - the night porter made us beakfast specially. We just felt so special to all the staff
What more can I say. I would always stay there in the future and the staff really made the hotel. Go enjoy and say I said hello

Room Tip: The corner rooms with the wrap around balcony were ideal for the sun, morning and afternoon

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days last week. When we arrived, after a pretty miserable journey (bus mix up), the friendly face of Carlos was there to welcome us. It was my husband's birthday and I had contacted the hotel prior to arrival to advise of this. I went down to speak to Carlos whilst my husband unpacked, and he told me that they were making him a little cake and would bring us this up, accompanied by 2 glasses of bubbly. This he did and it was a very welcome treat, for us both! The service throughout our stay was great, the hotel was spotless and very chic and on our last day, the staff were invaluable to us. We were waiting for our bus transfer outside the hotel from 7 a.m. Carlos came down the road just before 7.30 a.m. and advised that the road had been closed off and nothing would be coming down it...he and another staff member were so helpful from speaking to the road workers, to telephoning the transfer operator and finally running down the street to stop the bus! This hotel can not be recommended enough for it's location, it's style, the fresh breakfast and most importantly, the genuinely lovely staff. If you are lucky enough to be going to Puerto Pollensa, don't stay elsewhere unless it is booked up!

What a Hotel! If anyone is going to Puerto De Pollenca then do yourself a favour and book this hotel! My wife and I stayed here at the end of April 2013.

The Mar Calma Hotel is a beautiful, bespoke boutique hotel that operates to a very high standard. The Hotel Manager, Carlos, is an absolute gentleman and a true professional, as are all his colleagues within the hotel. Their genuine friendly and courteous manner made a great stay even better. I've stayed in more hotels than I care to remember, but this has to be the best! This is how hotels anywhere in the world should operate.

The hotel itself is quite compact but does not feel cramped or small in any way. I think it adds to its charm. There are 22 rooms which, like our room, provide a very large comfortable bed along with free access to wifi. A safe is also available and is free of charge. There is a large flat screen tv which has a good number of channels to suit everyone. The bathroom is a good size and boosts a large walk in power shower.

The breakfast is excellent and consists of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, different breads and pastries. Cold meats and cheese are also available as are bacon and eggs of your choice. The omelette is a meal on its own! Breakfast is served in the ground floor restaurant from 7.30 - 10.30.

The restaurant becomes a bar restaurant during the day serving drinks and excellent bar snacks. There isn't a full restaurant service available, but the Hotel's location is perfectly situated to access the restaurants in the near by square or the waterfront and port which is only 1 minute away!

The 1st floor boosts a reading room which also has a small balcony overlooking the Hotel entrance. The room is beautifully decorated with white leather chairs and tables. The room also features a large flat screen tv.

The top floor of the Hotel has a hot tub and deck chairs which are great to relax in and appreciate the views of the surrounding mountains and port.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone at the Mar Calma Hotel for making our stay a very pleasurable one. Will definitely be back!

Just returned from the Mar Calma hotel today. My partner had booked the hotel for a surprise birthday weekend. The staff at this hotel are genuinely friendly and are very efficient. The hotel is immaculately clean and had everything you could want for example power showers, ipod speakers etc. The breakfast was excellent. I can not criticise any aspect of this hotel. On checking out this morning we waited in the reception area and once checked out the receptionist provided us with complimentary drinks and refreshments and then carried our cases down the street and did not wait around for 1 second for a tip. Can not praise the staff enough who all made an effort in ensuring our stay was perfect. I will definitely be going back to this hotel!
