The small port was dirty and the infrastructure in general was poor. Before visitin the Manglares theirselves, we were first taken to a small beach -as I understood, to consume something from the restaurant that was there- and we lost 1 hour there. When the boat came back for us, we were taken to see the Bird Island, which was ok, and then, to the Crocodile Island. This last place was pittyful. Although they had crocodiles of every age, the place was dirty, the water stank...the ticket for this sort of zoo costed like 1$ but I would gladly pay 2$ if that would assure that this animals would live in better conditions.

Puerto Pizarro is 100% nature North of Tumbes City, at the beginning of last century was a big port but know is left only with their domestic fisherman, People are very nice and willing to help at any time, The bird Island is amazing!!! but, the crocodiles are trap, they keep them dirty in a very small pool. Sad.

Although it might be crowded with boats, this is a natural place with lots of wild animal.
The crocodile farm is interesting. We did a private tour with a villager of Puerto Pizarro (found directly there), very affordable and customized. You'll only need to know when is the high tide (can't be done at low tide).

A beautiful part of nature in the north of Peru. Easily to access and great tours by boat. There are some large bird islands to been seen with a lot of birds. From a distance it looks like a sort of black mist but as you come closer you see the large amount of birds flying over the island. Also there is a crocodile farm which is worth the visit. The farm is there to grow crocodiles and let them out in the wild again. There are some lovely taverns in the area where you can eat beautiful sea fruits so a good lunch is guaranteed.
