Welcome to Italy, the land of expensive hotels. We traveled with our one year old son. We choose this hotel mainly because of the price and name. This hotel has a shuttle van that swings by the airport and the nearby subway station. This service was VERY convienent for us. The van picks peaople up at the airport every 40 mins or so. This free service was about a 10 minute ride to the hotel. It is not that close to the Linate airport, if you are looking to stay across the street. The hotel was very nice and seemed to cator to the buisness travelers. We did not eat in there overly priced restaurant or buffet. The front desk was very helpfull and seemed to speak good english. They helped us point out the major attractions and told us how to ride the subway, which was very nice. Our room was very clean and very modern with an oversized bathroom and shower. We called the front desk to see if we could borrow an European outlet converter and they gave us a free one! Very nice, and we used it the rest of our trip! The free shuttle service could take you from the hotel to the subway station that was about a 3 minute drive. This was awesome because you could ride the subway for 1 Euro directly into the city center, which is where you want to be! Or when we left Milan we left by train and the subway takes you directly to the train station. Even though the Crown Plaza is not near anything, it was very easy to move around town without taking expensive taxi rides. We really enjoyed this hotel, the price, and loved Milan!

We stayed here as our last stop in Italy. After weeks of no air conditioning in hotels, no decent TV, no internet or internet cafes, the Crowne Plaza was a welcome refuge!

Clean hotel, good beds, and two English-speaking news channels. The computers in their business center worked great, I had no problems, used them several times. The buffet dinner and breakfast were very good - my son loved them, great fun!

I did not have to go through a gas station to get to it....not sure whether the last reviewer reviewed the correct hotel...it's in the middle of a corporate center.

Note: No free shuttle from 10 a.m. Saturday to that evening....not sure about Sunday. If you need one during that time, you will have to get a cab, which will cost about 15-20 Euros. The hotel is Not right next to the airport.

Stayed a night with Trafalgar Tours, and was one of the worst hotels stayed at.

I was expecting much more, being an international, well recognized and prestigious brand, but it was nothing.

The hotel is badly located in the middle of nowhere next to a highway. To access the hotel, you have to drive through a service station.

A football tournament was going on in Milan, and a group of huge teenage footballers were staying in the hotel. They had been jumping in the lifts and breaking them so the hotel had to limit it to 5 per lift instead of the usual 10 to a lift. The rooms were dimly lit, and the complimentary water was dusty and had dirt inside it. Gross...

The bathroom looked clean, and when i checked the soap boxes all were empty. No joke. there was some hand liquid soap but not much left. Also, the shower gel was empty, and had to use some we had bought.

We had the dinner buffet and the breakfast buffet. Both were pretty good, but still, you'd expect more from a Crowne Plaza.

The bar was packed with guests, so it must've been alright. Computers were available but were broken.

We have stayed at possibly 20 Crowne Plazas across the world and this is definitely the worst. Please, heed this warning and try another hotel.

I stayed at this hotel simply because I wanted a property with good facilities (WiFi, gym, restaurants and car park), which Crowne Plaza Linate delivers.

The room was large, priced at €145 for the Wed and Thurs and €97 for the Fri, and offered what you'd expect - comfortable beds, TV with plenty of channels, minibar, good bathroom, bathrobe - and particularly pleasing for a Brit - tea and coffee making facilities!

Breakfast is on the pricey side at €19.95, but it's possible to take an Express breakfast at the bar for less than €5.

The bar is excellent, with a great selection of free nibbles in the early evening (Indian snacks, crudites, parma ham canopes etc).

There is a choice of restaurants offering different levels of cuisine. I only used the a la carte restaurant, and the service and quality of food and wine were of a very high standard.

A comment about the friendliness of the staff, as I see this has been criticised in other reviews. I thought they went out of their way to make the guests feel welcome. They remember your name, what your favourite drinks are, what you're doing there, and seem genuinely interested.

I also used the gym, which is extemely well equipped with plenty of new cardio-vascular machines, weights and a sauna.

I can see how it might not suit every type of traveller. It's nowhere near the city centre, it's not even that close to Linate airport, and although there is a minibus which will take you to the nearest metro stop, if you return by metro, the minibuses only come around every hour-or-so, meaning you have to walk back through a slightly dodgy neighbourhood to get home. If you're arriving by car or coach, this will probably be less of a problem.

But this last point is the only thing that stops me giving it a 5th star.

We chose this hotel for its location and price. We knew that hotels right in the city center of Milan were going to be $$$ very expensive, so we decided to stay at the Crowne Plaza, near the airport, only 7 km from the area of Milan we wanted to be near.

Please PLEASE don't book this hotel, knowing it's at the airport, then complain about the location!

We had rented a car for the duration of our Italian trip, so this was perfect. Only a 15 min drive to the city center, a nice, clean and safe hotel. They do have parking, and no, it is not the hotel's responsibility on your car.

We are seasoned travellers, and Sr Management in world class hotels, and have stayed in some incredible hotels. The Crowne Plaza overall was a pleasant stay. We had already been to Milan, and decided to stay here just for an overnight trip to shop at the end of our 3 week vacation to spend the rest of our money.

The staff we encountered (about 3) were fluent in English and very pleasant.
