Chervo Golf Hotel Spa & Resort
Ranked #1 of 3 Hotels in Pozzolengo

We spent 9 unforgettable nights at the hotel with our two small kids. The hotel is recently built, elegant and extremely quiet. Even though it was August and full, we didn t notice the number of people at all. The staff deserves a special reward: they are all very professional, extremely caring for kids (the smal is 10 months old!!!) and the food is excellent. The demi pension scheme offers an "à la carte" option which makes the dinners very flexible. 3 different golf courses are available and one for less expert players. The landscape, hilly and green 360 degrees around you makes the setting very charming and relaxing. The swimming pool and SPA are great. Again, I would recommend it for any golfer but also for a shorter stay just for a special relaxing stay. They provide a baby sitter for kids (perfectly bilingual as the girl lives in UK during the year). It is in the Garda lake region, 15 mins drive from Sirmione, which makes the whole surrounding very attractive.

On booking this hotel We had some reservations due to the lack of online exposure including reviews on tripadvisors, to which we always use. Let's just say we are so glad we continued with the booking. On a two week trip to Italy driving from Milan to Florence, Rome and Venice finishing off with a week near Lake Garda the Chervo Golf Resort was just what we needed. About 10/ 15 minutes drive to Lake Garda the resorts sits in  Pozzolengo.

On arrival at the security gated entrance we drove up the long drive towards the hotel check in. Greeted by pleasant staff and provide with keys for our junior suite. We were on the second floor with golf course view, the room was fantastic, over two floors downstairs living space with toilet that turned into a bedroom at night, upstairs was the large bed room with main bath, showroom. Great TV channels Sky,,, and tea/coffee facilities, mini bar; prices not to bad at all.

The breakfast was excellent, fresh and full of choice, chef makes your eggs on request. The club house offers evening and lunchtime dining we used both and really enjoyed them, again finding the prices very reasonable considering the lactation, facilities and views.

We were the only British in the hotel, although very european, this hotel isn't a lively, entertainment package holiday, in fact total contrast. Is you and your family are looking for something quiet where you don't have to fight for sunbeds, and can relax, chill out, drive and explore lake Garda this is the place to come.

The spa also looks great, with free 24 hr gym for hotel guests.

Free wifi and underground car parking which makes a difference.

We can honestly say we loved our time at this hotel as a family.

Go to the resort and enjoy what it and Lake Garda has to offer.

I stayed in this Resort last week end. The location is amazing. I didn't like the spa & wellness. Tha sauna was not very hot. The hamman was not even working properly and in the end i think it was not worth the money I spent. I haven't tried the restaurant so I won't comment on it. There are better places in the area, this is sure.

First off i booked directly with the hotels website. Superior rooms description stated in 3 languages that they come with either a veranda or balcony. Guess what, not the case. But in fairness to the hotel they comped me after i complained.

Room was on the 3rd floor, nice furnishings, tiny bathroom for a superior category. Minibar in the rooms, but costs, great wireless which was included. The rooms have airconditioning, but if you are in the country, and don't want to add to the emmissions, it would be nice to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air. ( also my wife hates aircon but i can't complain about that). The problem was that they didn't put in bug screens, which at 195 euros a night, someone should have thought of.

Breakfast,

This was actually pretty good. Fresh bread, a juicepress for orange juice, freshly made eggs of choice - i had omlettes, which were up to par with 5 star hotels. Fresh prosciutto, prosciutto crudo, cheese, and smoked salmon. D'arbo jam which is in my IMHO the best in the world. BUT without Allesandro, the head waiter, the service would be a catastrophe. When you wait up to half an hour for a capuccino, you begin to get annoyed. But allesandro saved the day and allways got things back on track. Of the four days we were there he worked all of them from morning to late at night.

Golf. This was actually overpriced for what it offered - three 9 hole courses that do not really blend. The fairways were in great shape, but the greens were in poor condition, with players failing to repair their own pitchmarks. There were also no sand/seed boxes on the tee boxes, which meant that they looked like a war zone. The three courses, white, yellow and red each had its own style, the white being the shortest with a stop and go character, long par 4's followed by demanding par 3's and short par 5's. This was also the driest pf the 3 courses, and i was worried that it would have burned without some serious attention.

The red was the most uninteresting of the 3' with no real notable holes except the finishing par 5' which shares a green with the 9th of the yellow.

The yellow course is a great golf course with interesting and very challenging holes including a 220 yard over water carry par 3.

The clubhouse restaurant where the hotel guests also get their halfboard meals is a culinary crime. Don't waste your time or money. They simply cannot cook to the standard that they aspire to. Within 15 minute drives there are a plethora of fantastic restaurants.
