Travel to Rome for the crowds and hurried life. Travel to Semproniano for the peace and quiet.

Peace and quiet is certainly what you will find at Locanda La Pieve and the town of Semproniano. If you are seeking something romantic, charming, and unique, you have found the perfect little town and the perfect place to stay.

After a ten day trip to Italy (including Rome, Cinque Terra and Florence), the highlight of our trip was definitely our time at Locanda La Pieve. During the day we'd travel and explore the little neighboring towns and in the evening we'd return home for the best meals ever created. Not knowing what we were having for dinner piqued our curiosity all day long. Angela and Enrico create glorious dishes and we ate every morsel of every meal. They also tailored the foods to my gluten sensitivities, creating custom desserts and foods. They are both gifted chefs (he cooks and she bakes) and excellent hosts, warmly welcoming us and making us feel comfortable and at home.

Locanda La Pieve really is a fantastic place to stay set in a delightful part of the older part of Semproniano which is nicely off the busy tourist trail yet in the middle of glorious countryside. Angela and Enrico were great hosts - nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always available and happy to talk or offer advice and information but were never intrusive. Our room was beautiful and everything about our two day stay perfect -it really did feel as if it was a home from home. There are many things we are likely remember about La Pieve but the food is probably going to be the one that lasts longest. It was tasty, authentic and very local, cooked with attention to detail and flavour. Each course was served with an explanation about what it was and its local connection. One of us is vegetarian but that was not a problem and the veggie food seemed equally good. There was an excellent wine list too. This was a taste of the real Tuscany - utterly authentic and with wonderful guides in Angela and Enrico who helped us to enjoy it to its full.

Room Tip: All are individualised and beautifully decorated. The streets around are very quiet.

We made a last minute reservation because we wanted to visit Terme di Saturnia and it was the best decision ever. We ended up extending our stay. Angela and Enrico definitely put their love into this place. Each room has a sweet theme and all their food is home made and made fresh by them. The dinner is a must. Hope we can come back soon.

If your goal is to experience hill towns that don't feel like tourist attractions, visit Etruscan ruins, swim in hot springs and truly experience Tuscan living, I highly recommend you head SOUTH of Siena. The location of Locanda La Pieve is ideal to visit a great circle of Tuscany surrounded by amazing countryside. We even saw Cinghiale ( wild boar) on the road. The hotel is cozy and beautifully decorated but most importantly comes with the owners Angela and Enrico. Great hosts and tour directors and Enrico is an excellent chef. We had dinner there two nights and it was excellent....Caio for now...

We visited Tuscany in May 2014 and we stayed in Locanda La Pieve.
My sister (who helped us with the reservation) sent dozens of email prior our arrival, but nothing was even too much for them.
The hotel is charming, Angela and Enrico are nice and professional hosts.
Our room was very comfortable.
Enrico's gastronomy is excellent, everything is homemade, he cooks all of his heart into the meals, definately recommended trying his "crostino with Tuscany pate".

Our second visit in a year for dinner! As ever we were welcomed as family by Angela and Enrico. Enrico's food just keeps getting better and better. The antipasti were beautiful, especially the Aqua Cotta! Lovely pasta with aglione! Then the steak in morellino sauce just melted in your mouth. Chef refused to give us the recipe for his lemon cream and strawberry brûlée! Guess that tells you how good it was, exquisite! They always offer you great wines too from local vineyards. Grazie mille ancora!

This place is SUCH a GEM! We had no idea what we were stumbling upon relatively late at night on our way to the hot springs in Saturnia. Wow! The sweetest, most charming, unique place! Angela and Enrico are the most lovely hosts supporting local, organic farmers, preparing all the food with love including peach marmelaid with rosemary with fresch ricotta cheese and so much more! This place is a treasure and not to be missed while journeying through the lovely countryside of Tuscany! 1,000 Thank you's!!! Heather and Omar
