Royal Beach Dibba

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 18, 2012
Its really a basic 3* hotel that is overpriced. The room is fine with a terrace with plastic table and chairs, and most units have a view of the beach and grassy areas - ours didn't which may be why we were not that wrapped in the place. The beach is nice when the tide is in but rocky when its out. We had dinner by the beach and a nice atmosphere and food was good at reasonable prices. However breakfast was not up to standard expected when you are paying over $250 to get mainly an Arabic selection, sachets of instant coffee, tinned milk, cheap orange juice etc but you can order an omelette. Staff are good.
Its a dry hotel catering mainly for local Arabs, but ask the staff and inside there is an unadvertised duty free liquor hole in the wall window like 40 years ago in some countries - on the RHS at the top of the lane to the dive ramp. Good prices and a lot of locals drive up in the early evening - quite funny really as its hidden away with absolutely no signs.
At 11.00 am when we were leaving 3 bus loads of daytrippers from Dubai came in and that would destroy the family beach scene which generally was nice. I guess we just got spoilt in Haj Eid in Thailand at much better hotels on better beaches at less than a third of the prices.

Just got back from a wonderful 4 days at this resort. The chalet's were great, located right on the beach. We have a little teacup yorkshire, so they allowed us to bring him, so he had a little nice holiday too!! The food is average, not that tasty... But the onion soup is heavenly. The beach is great, however, there are a lot of rocks and seaweed. Fortunately they provide shoes for the water for free. We went snorkeling, saw many fish and turtles. Staff were great and helpful. Overall a great getaway. Recommended!!

We went there to celebrate our daughter's birthday! and thank God we chose this resort! The resort is beautiful, amazingly landscaped and had direct access to d beach. The watrr is blue and you see the vast stretch of indian ocean. However the beach is rocky with a bit of moss hence if u r going with your kids i suggest u use the pool instead! Breakfast and lunch buffet were pretty good but try to avoid the ala carte meal as it is too expensive and not that appealing! the best part of the stay was the spa treatment that me and my wife got as a part of the package.
Overall hotel staff were friendly and the tourist profile is niche and posh. so no lousy groups and you can have a chill out time there.

Basic hotel and services in stunning location.
We, family of 4, had a great 3 days and 2 nights in a quite period after Easter holidays. Service personnel were very friendly.
The hotel had seen better days but the deluxe chalet with 2 B/R ensuite was very spacious.
Sea turtle close to the beach and other animals elevates the rating to 4.
The beach ansd the sea close to the beach was littered with cigarette buds and plastic bags.
Other hotel guests and day trippers from Russia seem to be the focus clientel with all disadvantageous coming with it. 2 people from Russia caught sea turtles and held them as trophies for pictures. Hope, that the turtles aren't traumatized and return someday.

My wife and I stayed for two weeks at the Royal Beach Hotel and we were pleasantly surprised
The room was big enough and we had a great view from our terrace.
The room was cleaned daily and the staff was always very friendly
and there was nothing to complain about.
The only thing we missed was a Coffee/Tea making facilities.

Food is important when you stay two weeks at the same place.
Usually there is a buffet, but the restaurant offers also dishes from the A la Carte Menu.
Grilled hammour fillet was our absolute favorite.
The restaurant was also open for visitors from the outside and it
could be crowded there when a bigger group arrived for lunch.

The 240 m long beach is part of a nature reserve and you can
watch turtles, crabs and fishes.
We spent always in the morning some hours on an almost empty beach.
This was very relaxing.
There are no shops near the hotel, but there is a supermarket in Dibba
"Lu Lu Hypermarket". A taxi costs about € 2.50 and you can stop one
on the street outside the hotel.

General impression: A quiet and friendly place without drunken tourists and annoying sellers.
........we liked it.

The place was wonderfoul, the chalet clean and confortable.
I went there with my family: I, my husband and my two children (10 and 8). The sea was ok, and my children have seen turtles swimming very close!
unfortunally the restaurant was closed in the evening and we had problems to find a restaurant in Dibba.
The breackfast buffet in the morning was poor.
