“Lovely Restaurant”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

The restaurant is in an excellent location and any establishment associated with Marco is bound to be a pleasant experience. Prior to visiting I received mixed reviews from my friends and family.

The wine selection was excellent, the starters and main course were extremely good. The service was also stellar (although the staff were stretched). I certainly recommend this retaurant, but must please forewarn you that the prices are a bit on the high side --- but then if you are prepared to pay for quality then try this restaurant out!!

“Marco is back!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

You can't keep a professional down! Marco is back in Durban and together with his wife is busy establishing what promises to be a winner. Decor is a little on the sparse side at present but the menu is extensive and the food excellent. Service was good but a tad slow. By the way the name of the restaurant is La Storia! Watch this place become one of Durban's best.

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

WE had a lovely time last Wednesday evening. There are not many great Italian restaurants in the area and our first impression was a good one,
Lovely starters - calamari with chilli and olives and a wonderfully fresh grapefruit and prawn salad.
Mains: I had the line fish which was overcooked but the other mains at the table were delicious. Pizza looked fantastic.

Such a great wine list - loved the Italian blends on the back.

Will be back - on Saturday in fact!

“La faulty towers”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

Restaurant is called La Storia and what a Storia it turned out to be. They lost our reservation. When seated they had run out of glasses so we got heavy chunky ones. Ditto napkins. Starters were ok. The place was packed and the ambience was great.
Wine list was pretty good.

The main course was awful. They tried to cover the fact by giving us huge portions. These would be huge in New Jersey. I had crumbed fillet that was oily and The chips were not edible. My wife had Saltimbocca. It was more Assaultonbocca. Huge lumps of pork with a cumin risotto. They did say it was a pork rather than a veal Saltimbocca. They forgot that Saltimbocca has Parma ham in it . It was dreadful and they took it off the bill. The chef arrived and apologised. Our one guest had the same dish and struggled through. Our other guest had a very nice chicken dish.

Desert- our guests ordered a Creme Brûlée and a Bread and Butter pudding. Our waiter went to check if they had the Creme Brûlée as the evening had been busy. She returned with a positive answer and we awaited the dessert. She then arrived to say that the Creme Brûlée was sold out. We canceled the other dessert.

While we were finishing our wine the waitress asked if everything was still ok.

We left looking for Basil to appear.
