We just stayed 1 night. Unfortunately . The place is very beautiful. In a spectacular area of Douro Valley. Good breakfast. Friendly owners and staff. We also get very good recommendations for other activities in the area.

Beautiful and homey establishment with warmly decorated sitting room, surrounded by gardens.
Cons:
- The breakfast (which is delicious) is served at large table with other guests - have to be social before having coffee :-)
- After checking in, was difficult to find the host again - there is no "front desk" so have to look for him
- Room a little small
Pro's
- Gorgeous, huge bathroom
- Spacious, lovely balcony
- Delicious breakfast with made-to-order egg dish
- Beautiful grounds with gardens
- Not too far walk from town - about 10-15 mins
- Warm, welcoming reception from Manuel - even a welcome Port!
- Lovely, warmly decorated sitting room
Overall, highly recommended!!

We hated to leave! The rooms are wonderful, the grounds teem with olive trees, oranges ripe for the picking, a lemon tree, kumquats, a window box with ripe strawberries, the sight and aromas of flowers everywhere and birdsong. The view is of the Duoro and vineyards. The staff us amazingly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast sumptuous and delicious. Besides, it is a short, if steep, walk to the main street where there are numerous restaurants and the train station. There is also a walkway along the river.

Feels like you are a guest in a friend's home. We visited in December and the Christmas decor really added to the cozy atmosphere. Staff was helpful in making reservations and recommending a local wine tour. Pool is lovely but too chilly for a swim.

We were in one of the newer bungalow units by the pool, with a view of vineyards and the countryside. Our unit was spacious, clean and comfortable. The owner, Manuel, was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety and eggs on order. There was an honor bar and refrigerator with drinks at very reasonable prices. The house is a beautiful old building with many sitting rooms. It s a short drive to town. I would not stay here without a car, as the way to town is on a dark road and would not be a pleasant walk. The only issue with our stay was the hot water, which took a very long time to become hot. We figured that was because it was coming from the house, but people who were staying in the house told us they had a problem with it as well.
