“Beautiful Balos”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

Went with a tour group to see Gramvousia Castle on the slowest boat ever!!! But really only wanted to go to Balos. Not sure whether they did a direct ferry boat to the lagoon as the only boat that went was the one going to the castle. Only got to spend two hours at the lagoon which would have been disappointing if it was a very hot day.

“A piece of paradise”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

One of the best beaches I've ever been to. White sand, still turquoise waters and an amazing landscape with high hills behind you. We had lunch in a small local tavern ran by a family and experienced wonderful greek food for a very small price. I definitely reccomend. Just be aware that since you enter Balos protected area you will have to drive for about 20 minutes in a very bad condition road and after you park your car, you'll have to walk through a steep hill for another 20 minutes. Even so, you'll be nicely rewarded when you arrive!

“One of the best beach I've ever seen!!”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

The road to get there is long and very bumpy, but it's worth going!!

You have to walk 20-30 minutes to get to the beach from the parking space, but you can walk with the slipers.

We went in may and we parked on the street cuz the parking lot was full: I don't want to think how hard has to be to find a park space in August!!

ps: you have to pay one euro each person you have in the car!!

“beautiful location”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Drove along the dust track (which was pretty hairy at times) to the car park and then a good 20-30 minute walk down to the beach itself, however beautiful views. Costs 1 euro per person to enter the area.
A couple of tavernas are now located on the beach, which were actually pretty reasonable, as well as one in the car park area.
Best go there before 2pm as that's when the ferry arrives and the hordes spoil the tranquil setting!
