This quaint little place is very cozy and welcoming, especially on cold days after a long day of traveling and/or sightseeing. The rooms are very nice, and plenty of blankets are provided. There is no centralized heating, so one has to use the fireplace and know how to throw wood longs into the chamber. I personally had to haul wood a couple of times from the reception to my room since I ran out of them pretty fast overnight, in my room. The fireplaces in the dining area worked wonderfully well and made me very comfortable after getting in from outside trips in the cold weather.

The restaurant is wonderful in terms of their food options, but the pricing is ABSOLUTELY not worth it - portion sizes are very small, and everything else to satisfy one's hunger costs extra.

In all other aspects as well, this hotel is very capitalistic - the wine tours are US$10 a person but the samples are very small (and they don't give you extras). There is NO FREE internet, and WiFi service is spotty and expensive - something like US$5 for 50 MB (gets over just like that). Their organized tours are pretty cool, but quite overpriced. Their Margaritas during happy hour costs US$5 for a small glass.

The waterfalls and nearby church are not to be missed. The facility is very well-decorated and well-maintained. I strongly recommend this place to anybody in the Cerocahui area that is looking for a nice place to stay AND has some money to spend.

Room tip: Closer to Reception are better, easier to ask for help.

When we arranged our trip to the Copper Canyon our travel agent took care of our hotel bookings (very unusual for us) but we were extremely happy with this choice. we took a superior room and were very thankful for the log fire which the staff lit for us. Since the weather was inclement - we gave up on the walk to the waterfall and the winery tasting preferring instead to sit and enjoy a glass or 2 of the red wine. The food was very good, everything was freshly cooked and well presented. The staff worked well together and seemed to enjoy meeting and spending time with the guests.

Room tip: Go for a Superior room it is considerably bigger and quieter

Welcomed with big smiles in a gorgeous entry with a hugh fire place. Food was delicious and so was the Red wine (grown in their own winery). We had a wine tour with one other couple. We set out on foot around the little town starting at a girls boarding school, so cute the girls are and the youngest boarders being only 4 years of age :( didn't have a wine till we got back to the gorgeous hotel where 4 wine glasses were set up on the glass table so we sat on the big leather lounge in front of the roaring fire with cheese and bickies and tried their lovely Reds......bliss!!! Loved the staff, food, beds, charming ambiance and to our surprise (and theirs in March) it Snowed! Beautiful!! Love to go back.

Room tip: I think they would all be good.

My husband and I visited in mid-March in route to las barrancas del cobre, as part of a group of 38 on a Mex-Eco tour. This is a charming historic property with its own vineyard. The vino tinto Mision that it produces is really quite good and affordable. Our room was rustic but attractive with all the necessary amenities (including hair dryer). The weather was clear but a bit nippy at night. We had a wood-burning stove, but the fire went out about 2:30 a.m. with no extra wood (wood supplied was mesquite, which apparently burns fast). Not really a problem, there were blankets and we all had our fire/firewood stories the next morning. The hotel staff struggled a bit with lunch service when we initially arrived from the El Chepe train (there was another small group present too), but they rallied for dinner service and the breakfast buffet. Definitely a rustically upscale experience with decent food and wine on a charming out-of-the-way property, akin to the Spanish Paradors. No Wifi or cell phone connectivity in the hotel. In the town square I had one Telcel bar on my I-Phone and was able to call my son for his birthday. But no data here. There is data at the next Baldarrama hotel on the trail, Barrancas Mirador.

Room tip: Most guests are in a small group so the room assignment is typically luck of the draw.

This would be a great place to explore a few days. Beautiful architecture, a fireplace in your room complete with someone to light it for you, game room separate, great food and fun bar area. Service was wonderful, there is a winery onsite.

Room tip: The hotel has great gathering area, rooms are quaint enjoy them
