I had high hopes for this hotel but got a bad room which was stinky and had to be sprayed with lysol. they told me that the hotel was full but there was hardly anyone in the dining rooms. The best part is probably the gift shop where i found a really nice dress (the buyer must be good) and some other fellow travellers found great things.

The outstanding quality of this property is the hospitality provided by staff. They made me feel welcome throughout my stay with their smiles. They are well trained in guest services.

The next best quality of this property is the traditional Thai Style Houses and garden which made me as if I was traveling back in time to the good old days. Some people might complain about the dark/gloominess of the rooms decorations, but for me it was an experience the traditional Thai architecture. The modern facilities helped to make the stay much more comfortable.

I think the quiet, peaceful surrounding is the reason why many corporations come to this place to organise meetings.

Room Tip: Try to get the Deluxe room on the 2nd floor. Try the coconut jello sold at the gift shop. It's...

We had a lovely one night stay at Baan Amphawa. We opted for one of the more expensive pool villa rooms which we felt was worth it. The room was huge with a separated sofa area, the bathroom was lovely with big shower cubical and there was a lovely bath. I was impressed that they used large shampoo/shower gel and then refilled the bottles rather than the wasteful little throw away ones. The bed was very, very comfortable and provided a TV. with DVD player and a HDMI port as well as an ipod dock. We really enjoyed sitting outside in our own private pool garden on the sun loungers and could have dip in the refreshing water when needed. We had room 512.
The resort was very quiet and there are two pools, a tiny lake with peddle swans for children, a small wooden build park, restaurant, access to boats, spa. It was great for us as for a romantic retreat but would be equally great with kids.
The food at restaurant was very good and service quick. In terms of vegetarian options none but you could ask for what you wanted. The location is only 5 minutes ride from the floating market which is great and they provide a FREE tuk tuk with lovely friendly staff.
I definitely recommend this place.
The negatives for me:
We were not told details of breakfast or about where the restaurant etc were when we first arrived (Not a major problem).
Our private pool had many leaves in and obviously had not been cleaned out for a while as some leaves were at the bottom and they did not provide a net to clean it ourselves. This was not to bad though the water was lovely and it felt very natural with all the trees around. I think they would have come straight away if we had asked them.
The spa looks amazing but the cost is very high, even with the 200 baht voucher.
The park for the children looks a bit run down.
Not many people around even in peak season at peak season prices.
Breakfast had a good range but not many vegetarian options

Room Tip: On one side of the resort are very Thai style accommodation and this is the river side of the road...

The staff is great, but the rooms are not so good... the bathroom was dirty, the interior was old and not maintained. Unfortunately this is the best hotel in Amphawa. But i have to say, we had dinner in their restaurant and the red curry was fantastic!

We came to enjoy the Thai "Loi Kratong" Festival in Amphawa. (28.11.2012)
we arrived fro a two night stay at 7AM after a long Journey and were shown to our room at once... what luck what service!
The room was as we had read before on the small side but in this case ... how much room do you need to sleep? The amenities of the room as they should be.
After a rest we were assisted friendly and efficiently how best to enjoy the "Loi Kratong". If you have never seen the "Loi Kratong" display on the you have been missing something.
Our short stay was thoroughly enjoyable ... Breakfast / Restaurant OK
Excellent Shuttle Bus service!
A nice stay...thank you!

The hotel has bicycles for use by the guest ... take aride to town (short) and on the the historic King Rama ll Memorial Park just the other side of the Floating Market Canal.
AND of course the numerous floating markets...

Room Tip: I think the "normal" room are more or less all the same maybe a ;low room number such as 1...

Spent two nights here with spouse. Checked in Sunday and out on Tuesday. Took train to Mae Klong from Bangkok's Wong Wianyai station. Took tuk-tuk to Baan Amphawa Resort. Arrived about 12pm. Room wasn't ready. Left bags and took free hotel shuttle into Amphawa for the weekend floating market (Fri-Sunday). Spent afternoon there and returned at 7pm. Taken to Room #407 where our bags had already been delivered. Room was a handicap accessible room and large, but I'm 6'2" and the accessible features made me feel a bit like Robinson Caruso in the land of the Lilliputians. We asked to switch rooms. Were told we received that room because we booked on Agoda.com and were also told hotel was full. Gently pressed the matter and were soon escorted to Room #305. Room was slightly smaller than the first one, but at least everyone was a standard height.

Room had nice linens, king bed, hair dryer, 2 bottles of water daily, Vessel sink. Free wifi. Wash cloths. Shampoo only, no conditioner.

Hotel seems more of a convention hotel than guest resort as there were several large groups from Bangkok on Monday morning when we went for breakfast. Breakfast was served buffet style in the restaurant by the river.

Tuesday morning it seemed the hotel was nearly empty and breakfast was made to order in what looked like a conference room. Western, Asian or Continental Breakfast were the choices, plus fresh fruit. Prepared fresh, but seemed a little odd.

Hotel has 2 nice pools. One by the restaurant/river has fewer chairs than the one by reception. We hung out there for several hours and were the only ones in the pool. It was nice.

Prices for massages, etc seem over priced. A 1 hour massage was 2,000 Baht and in Amphawa the massage was 250 Baht.

My only real complaint was my umbrella was stolen from the box outisde our room where we're requested to put our umbrellas. When we brought this up to reception they weren't that concerned. We asked for a replacement and they tried to sell us one of theirs. Not the hotel's fault some other guest stole my umbrella, but a little empathy would have been nice.

Room Tip: Avoid #407, a handicap room

This is my 2nd time for stay Baan Amphawa Resort & Spa. The resort is located on the river which is good atmosphere in evening and morning. The room was nice , try to upgrade to deluxe room where located in upper floor of Thai House- good experience and facilities! This is a 4 star with 02 swimming pools, Spa and GYM. The best thing in this resort is facilities. They are very smart and pleased to assist you in any help. Even somebody's English is not well, but you can see their willing to help via their performance. Restaurant is good, Buffet Breakfast with choices. and good Menu for Lunch and Dinner. But if compare with a price. this is a bit pricy.

Overall, this is memorable experience for me at here.

Room Tip: Booked Deluxe room instead of superior room
