“Interesting but not worth a significant detour”

There seem to be many interesting historic sites in Ireland and they vary dramatically in terms of preservation. This one has some interesting crosses and some good work has been done to preserve them. However, the cathedral is very small and there is not a great deal else to see. If you are in the area, it is worth checking this site out. Food and toilets are available in the nearby Burren Centre.

It is interesting to see, right beside the Burren Visitor Centre and takes a few minutes only. The community is quite proud of the site. It was nice to see if you are here but I would not go out of my way specifically to see the crosses. There are so many ruins in Ireland!

Pros
-the site is free
-There are some historically relevant crosses on site
-there are other historical artifacts present
-efforts are being made to cover the precious relics from the elements
-it is something to do while you are waiting for the "Heart of the Burren" tour with Tony Kirby
Cons
-there is just not that much to see here

Don't remember doing anything about these crosses in my Art History course - why weren't they on the list! Lovely site and well worth a stop to view the Cathederal and Crosses.

The old cathedral is beautiful and the cross is too. There is a roof made of glass to protect a cross. There is another Cross outside really good for pictures when the sun is going down. The cimitery is so old and beautiful!
