We had accommodation in one of the many quaint fisherman's cottages that are for let in Gardenstown and where recommended to visit the gardens arms by the locals but recommended to call first as limited space in the restaurant ,so glad we did as Lynn and Dave and all the locals make you feel at home ,food was home cooked and tasted delicious,I had haddock and hubby had the steak accompanied by new potatoes and lardons ,curly kale, beans and cream ,mmmm not had before a lovely combination ,finishing off with treacle sponge and custard, and lots of wine. All beautifully cooked and excellent value for money ,thank you for a great night.

Room Tip: Rooms where not available at the gardens arms but plenty of holiday cottages around to choose from .

It was our 35th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely meal beautifully cooked by Lynne. Most memorable for me was the monk fish. Last year when we stayed in Gardenstown they were fully booked all week and now we know why. So thanks Lynne and Dave and we wish you continued success.

Room Tip: Book ahead!

We have just returned from our first ever trip to Gardenstown; and what a wonderful break we had! If you are lucky enough to visit this beautiful part of the world; then a visit to the Garden Arms Hotel is an absolute must. Generous, friendly, welcoming and kind are just a few words that could be used to describe Dave and Lynne (proprietors) and their lovely local patrons. Even when fully-booked (I would suggest that you do so in advance) Dave and Lynne did everything they could to accommodate us. Outstanding customer service and we were made to feel like part of the community in our few days there. Many thanks to all the lovely people who ensured that our short break was a memorable one. We will be back!

Every time my wife and I visit Crovie it is a treat to walk around Gamrie bay to Gardenstown to visit the Garden arms hotel and receive the usual warm welcome of the owners Dave and Lynne and the locals, you soon feel like you have never been away. We had this pleasure recently with the added bonus of having one of Lynne's fantastic dinners, food that you would be hard pressed to obtain in any top restaurant, at prices that are far more than reasonable considering the quality. This time there was the added bonus of winning the friendly pub quiz ably helped by two locals without who's help we would most probably have come last. It's hard to have to wait until the next time.

Have been to Garden town 3 times, never stayed at the hotel, only cottages. I found the locals welcoming but the owner Dave a bit weird as he recognised me from previous visits and made little attempt to make me feel welcome. I found this a little annoying and its put me off going back, as its the only pup in the village. This is a late review but feel strong enough to write about it now.

Dave take my advice and appreciate people who return to Gardnstown, and go on a customer relations course.

We have just returned from our first(but not last!)visit to Gardenstown. We rented a lovely cottage right by the sea,the weather was great & the icing on the cake was The Garden Arms!!We were made to feel so welcome by Dave & Lynne & their regulars(& even had a go at the quiz!!).
We ate there on our last evening, the food was excellent.
Do book well in advance if you want to eat there,it's very popular. We will return!

Visited for lunch last Sunday after a lovely walk to Crovie and back. Couldn't get to a bank and they didn't have a card machine. They gave us soup and sandwiches and a soft drink which should have cost more than we paid. We were greatful. The place is very quaint but lovely and I would definitely make it my local if I lived there. Will certainly be back.
