We returned to Gardenstown for the first time in 4 years having frequently rented a cottage in the village prior to that period. We were regulars in the Garden Arms during our holidays and chose to return to Gardenstown over New Year 2012/13. On our first night we went into the pub and were welcomed by Dave and Lynne as if we had never been away. We had a great night spent mostly chatting to Lynne at the bar and the other locals who remembered us.
We returned for Hogmany and had one of the best New Years we have had in ages. The atmosphere in the Garden Arms before and after midnight was brilliant. There was a great mixture of locals and visitors alike and the fantastic thing about this place is that people actually speak to each other and you get to meet folk from all walks of life. The Garden Arms is extremely well run and exceptionally friendly - I would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks so much for a memorable New Year!
