The Hotel is fine, well positioned, well maintained, very clean with clean rooms, a range of
excellent food, nice swimming pool, etc, etc. Hardworking and pleasant staff. Bar staff seem to be overworked at times. No problem with the Presidente Hotel. (Here's the) But- this is a Thomson family hotel and perhaps is not for childless holidaymakers, unless the 'entertainment' team are banned, on threat of deportation, from touching microphones, amplifiers, loudspeakers etc and/or are given training on how to operate a Volume Control switch. Do go there if you have children, think twice if not. That said, my wife and me enjoyed our 11 All-Inclusive days in October.

Room Tip: Pay extra.

My wife and I stayed at the Presidente Hotel between 20-27 October. We stayed all inclusive. First impressions of the outside of the hotel were very favourable, small shop and a case lift to the reception on the upper ground floor. Receptionists very nice and helpful, so we were soon in the room and unpacking. We were on the third floor which had very nice views over the bay. Drinks are in small plastic cups which we didn't find a problem (just order two instead!). Food was not bad , we found something to eat everyday, repetitive sometimes but manageable. Breakfasts were the usual french toast, sausages, bacon, eggs, baked beans or cereals, fruit etc. Lunch seemed to be either a pork product and fish or hawaiian toast. Dinner the same but we did have yorkshire puds one night! Wine and beer comes from a tap (help yourselves ummm). Waitresses now thats a different story, they would grab plates from underneath your noses, reach over you when you were eating, not a pleasurable experience to say the least. Evening entertainment was actually very good, after the kids bits they brought on Chinese acrobats, riverdancers both superb and a comedian come singer...ho hummm. Childrens entertainment was very good the Thomson crew ditzy Danielle, minty moo (Emma),Abbie Ga ga and tip top Tom were always on hand to tirelessly entertain the kids. Moving outside the sunbeds looked a bit tired, definitely need fixing or new ones but we always found one suitable. When 11am comes around it's like a pool party (aqua aerobics, a quiz, darts etc) thank goodness for noise cancelling headphones haha, only after 3pm does everything go quiet. Portinatx is very small, only a handful of shops and restaurants so exploring took about 30 minutes. Three superb little picturesque beaches (if you can't stand poolside action!). The hotel is right alongside another Thomson hotel ,the EL Greco. We were travelling as a couple and enjoyed every minute of it,yes it is a Thomson family hotel but it does have something for everyone. So to sum up, if you don't like kids there is a small balcony type 'adults only' area with 16 sunbeds but if you do you will have no problems at this hotel. We will be booking for next year and hopefully taking some of our grandchildren with us.

Room Tip: Family rooms are on the first floor generally overlooking the front of the hotel,if staying as a couple third or forth floor rooms (pool side) give very good views over the bay.

Just returned today 31/10/12 from a week, all inclusive at this hotel in Portinax, Ibiza. This hotel is definately a family hotel. The Thomson reps were excellent with the children, Tom seemed to be very good at his job. People who have moaned about the food being repetitive is probably correct, but thats what is to be expected when you go all inclusive. I thought there was plenty of choice, you could certainly not go hungry. Staff at hotel were friendly, a couple needed to learn to smile. We had a family room as it was a last minute booking. Family rooms do not go higher than the 2nd floor out of 4 floors. It could be noisy at times, but come midnight.........silence. The rooms were cleaned every day. They were adequate for what time you spend in them. The resort of Portinax is quite hilly, so if you have any issues with walking and going up and down hills or stairs, then I would steer clear of this resort. This is a VERY quiet resort too. If you want a peaceful, doing nothing holiday, then this is a good place to be. Views from the hotel over the bay are stunning. I would go back.

Room Tip: Family rooms are first and second floor, therefore busy with children.

Seriously do not know we're the bad reviews come from! Stayed here twice with 2 kids, the staff are fantastic, kids club are amazing, we barely saw our kids so we could have a relaxing time too. Ok the rooms arnt 100%, but they're cleaned every day and you only sleep in there! The area is lovely and quiet, not much going on but the entertainment was good and to be honest mostly aimed at kids. The amount of people we saw this year without kids that said they wished they'd took their grandkids was unreal!
The food was good too, always plenty of choice, kids ate lots everyday.
So if you want a good holiday both you & your kids will enjoy, book here, ignore the bad reviews!

My husband and i stayed at this hotel in sep 2012, it is a quite get away even though it is a family resort, the Thomson people keep them busy and are great to watch they have so much energy, we normally go for non child places but this was a last minuet deal with Thomson, there is an adults only bar under the pool area this is very quite and has back ground music, there is also a sun bathing adults only area as well.the only time the children were some times an issue was at meal times that was always down to bad parenting and not the hotels fault.the rooms were comfortable, very clean and had tea and coffee making falsities, but we always take English tea.We would say the rooms were 3 plus stars, the food was very good my husband is a meat and two veg man, but even he loved the food and deserts, we were half board, there are two bays with in a five minuet walk that have lots of choice of restaurants and some shops that sell cheap cigarettes and alcohol. this is down a short steep hill with some steps so your get fit. The hotel staff were very nice and friendly. There is a bus, land train and boat in one of the bays so day trips are easy. the area was beautiful and the sea warm, we would go back again we loved it.

Room Tip: rooms facing the main pool are loud in the evening, but have a sea view the ones facing the children's pool are quieter.
