We've been to the Bakehouse on at least 4 previous occasions and generally enjoyed the food and atmosphere. This latest experience was, however rather disappointing. An entree of Kingfish was bland and at $24 there was very little on the plate to justify this price. Lamb rump was equally unimpressive. We ordered a riesling (one of only a handful of whites on offer and well over $45). It was extremely sweet and quite offensive (more a traminer / desert style wine) with an entree/main meal. I asked the waiter to taste it himself however he simply gave me an odd look (another complaining customer?) and made no comment. While the service was attentive, the staff lacked energy and a smile was in very short supply. No music to cut a very quiet and subdued dining experience on the verandah despite it being well occupied by other diners. All done in an hour and a half (didn't bother with dessert) and $200 + not well spent.
