This mansion of a bygone era has six rooms with ensuites. The Hiunter room where we stayed had a balcony overlooking Morpeth and the flood plain across the river. Room was comfortable and bed very comfortable. Downstairs is two sitting areas with period furniture and books and DVDs to choose from. Breakfast was on a balcony overlooking the countryside and my egges are the best I have had in a long long time

My fiance and I spent three nights at the Bronte Guesthouse, and it was one of the highlights of our holiday. We had the Garden Suite, which was large and roomy, with a very comfortable King bed, ensuite, couch, ensuite and even a small area in which to store clothes and get dressed!

Your usual comfortable amenities: TV, DVD player, fridge, kettle, with a few chocolates (always nice).

The midweek rate for three nights was very reasonable at $420, including delicious two course breakfast on the front verandah. Would be pricier on weekends, but that's the Hunter Valley.

Absolutely no problems with noise, as our room was at the back of the house.

My only pointer would be that Morpeth is approximately 45 minutes drive from any wineries, so that should be taken into account. But the restaurants and facilities in Morpeth were perfect, great steaks and beer brewed onsite at the Commercial Hotel!

Room Tip: The Garden Suite was large, lots of natural light, and at the back of the building so very little ro...

Breakfast included, was a nice place and probably the best in Morpeth... Lovely service!!! Enjoyed the stay. Very relaxed good place for doing work on the laptop on their balcony upstairs also... Not really much more to say, why do you need to write 200 characters????

My husband and I whilst visiting friends in the Morpeth area booked in to stay at the Bronte Guesthouse. The anticipation of a great stay was already set whilst making our booking. I was already confident that our needs would be met particularly as we had special dietary requirements. Whilst parking in the guest area Lisa arrived to greet us and show us to our room. Very Spacious with wonderful touches. Just ask and Lisa assists you. She even called us later to see what time we wanted breakfast served the following morning as earlier we could not decide. Great sleep not a sound to be heard and very very comfortable beds (and I am fussy about noise and comfort) Woke in the morning to the smell of eggs and bacon. Wonderful to be sitting on the balcony enjoying every moment and feeling sad for everyone else for not waking up to this delight. Will definitely be back. Thank you so much and Nigel you can cook for us anytime.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst looking for a rental property in the area. We arrived after a very long drive from Mackay and were quickly welcomed by Lisa. The B&B itself is a charming property right in the centre of Morpeth and the location couldn't be any better, yet there was no noise from the street behind us at night.
Breakfast was delicious, prepared by Murray who was also extremely helpful, giving us tips on the local area. It did take a while for our room to warm and the B&B itself was rather chilly but that's certainly the only downside we could think of, and to be expected in an older property. We even blew out our budget and stayed an extra night. Coming back to the B&B after slogging around the real estates made the stress of moving much more bearable!
Dinner at the pub on the corner was great, very welcoming locals. Would highly recommend staying at Bronte Guesthouse!! Thanks again

I travel to the Hunter Valley for some of my mining clients and was referred to this place by the helpful guys at SAFEgroup who are also in the same village
The B and B is nothing short of marvellous and the owner could not do anything more to help make our stay any better.
Morpeth is a town that I did not know existed - it s one of Australia's best kept secrets..
A word of warning though the town is only open Thursday to Sunday (the tourist parts that is)
The restaurant across the Road (Arnotts is brilliant) and the Commercial pub on the corner has a great trivia night where my mate and I were warmly welcomed and taken in as locals - my team came second and my mates came first - locals are beautiful people
Guys if you are coming to Morpeth do yourself a favour and stay here

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Bronte Guesthouse. Although we were a little disappointed that there was no welcoming fire or warmed room when we arrived, must admit we were a little later than we had said. We phoned Lisa when we arrived and she was there in no time. There were 4 of us, with an ensuited room each, all lovely. One was on the ground floor, other 3 were on the first floor, where the dining room also is. Nigel cooked wonderful breakfasts, which were included, in very good spirits. Breakfast is served on the balcony at the front which is enclosed with clear plastic, and it's a lovely sunny area on a winter's morning. The rooms were all slightly different in decor and space, but all were more than adequate. My room was at the front with a balcony with table and chairs. One room was downstairs, others overlooked garden. Beds were very comfortable, air-conditioning in all rooms, proper hair dryers. Some rooms had desk, mine didn't which I would have liked, just to do my emails etc. Great position in the main street, so we walked everywhere. We went to the local pub for dinner on Wednesday night and played trivia which was fun. Would recommend this guesthouse highly.

Room Tip: If you have a specific need, say so. e.g. there is a downstairs room, one upstairs has a sofa as we...
