“Good food and a good night out”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

We attended midweek with docket deal in hand and good expectations with it's local reputation. We had 8 in our group and sat outside. The docket deal was excellent value, but I don't think it would have made a difference. We had heard recently that the service was down a bit, but this definitely wasn't the case when we visited, Gabriella was excellent and couldn't have done enough for us. The pizzas were terrific and they were too many favourites to say which was best. Drinks are very reasonably priced. A great night out and our three hours there went in a flash. Maybe take some aeroguard if you are planning to hang around in the outdoor area. I will recommend it, a great casual dining experience.

“New owners have let this business down.”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

I have dined here numerous times. And recommended it to many friends.

On my recent visit, I found that...

They stopped the complementary glass of local wine.
Taken the Iconic Dessert pizza off the menu.
They ran out of lamb.
The service was ok, but lacking energy.
Music was just commercial radio.
Outdoor furniture is in disrepair.

This cafe lacks any "Wow Factor"

I will be exploring the many other cafes that Morpeth has to offer.

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed during your vist with us. We have made many positive changes to the business since taking over in July last year, including revamping the menu. Whilst we appreciate some old favorites may have been replaced, we feel we have improved the menu and now include more pizza options, and dessert options prepared by Chris himself.
It has been a learning curve for us and our staff and we appreciate all feedback - both positive and negative - as it assists us to improve our service.

“Quaint with Good Food”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

The food was excellent. Woodfired pizza with a thin crispy base and great toppings. I had the Fiery seafood which had loads of prawns, mussels and other seafood and a really interesting cheese we were told by the chef is a stretch mozzarella. The cheese is not greasy like normal and did stretch. My wife has the tandoori chicken. Both enjoyed the food. Service can do with a bit of training and this would get it up to five stars. The atmosphere is interesting. Morpeth was founded in 1840s and this looks like one of the original buildings.

“Quaint, great pizza”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

A group of us rocked up around 2 for a late lunch. We sat outside in the back which was quite pleasant. It's a bit of a maze to get around, but that just adds to it's charm. Although the cafe isn't licensed themselves you can byo if you buy it from the wine cellar near the front. Prices are reasonable and pizzas were very good. We had a few to share, but the favourite was probably the spicy seafood one...yum. Would definitely go back!
