We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Lovedale, Hunter Valley for 4 days in September 2010. We stayed in a self contained 2 Bedroom villa backing onto the golf course. The villa was beautifully appointed and clean. Bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. Villa also had a kitchenette and large living area. THere was four of us staying in the villa but never felt cramped at all. Breakfast at the Red Salt was included in our package and I can highly recommend it. Full buffet with heaps of options from freshly cooked omelettes to waffles made to order with fresh berries and double cream. Also had dinner there one night and found it very good although not a huge amount of choices on the menu. Had spa treatment including massage at the resort which was very relaxing (prices were a little high but you expect that at a resort). Our husbands played golf at the golf course on site, and although the course was in decent condition, said that it was fairly basic course and not much of a challenge. They played at Cypress Lakes the next day and enjoyed that golf course a lot more. Crowne Plaza is on the main road into Hunter Valley and easy to find (Although half the letters are missing from the entry which made it a bit of a challenge to decipher when we first arrived!) It is not far from Pokolbin which is more in the centre of the Hunter Valley attractions. Staff were always very helpful and professional as you would expect. Enjoyed our stay there very much, and hopefully will be back again in the future.

Booked for 3 bed suite, nicely appointed updated modern design. Nice size open kitchen with living room flat screen TV. Fluffy clean bed crisp sheets comfy sleep. Remote in room temps kept it very pleasant inside. Nice looking lounging bar area in hotel lobby selection of restaurants. Buffet breakfast included had great selections including an egg bar fresh choose your own fruit/veg juice bar and auto fresh pancake machine. Service attentive wait staff constant and available. (without irritation)

We had a very enjoyable two days at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley. The hotel is only four years old and is modern and stylish. The room was clean and comfortable and had a sense of space due to high ceilings. The bathroom was also a good size. There was plenty of storage space and the beds were very comfortable. There are also self-catering villas on the property which would be a good option for families and groups. If you enjoy golf then the course is right at the hotel - beginners watch out, there is a lot of water on the course! We ate at the hotel's Red Salt restaurant and enjoyed the food but found the menu a little limited and there were no other options as the other restaurant Star Anise (Asian) was closed. I would recommend this hotel if you want a good value base in the Hunter Valley or are with children (good pool). Downsides are that it does not have a sense of location i.e. no vineyard or countryside views. If you want more of the charm of the Hunter, smaller boutique hotels or self catering would be a better option.

Great location near the wineries in Hunter Valley. Excellent accomodation, we had a spacious apartment with a terrace viewing the golf course. A few steps to first tee, what more could you ask for? The restaurant was also very good, breakfast had everything.

I've stayed at this hotel several times since it opened a few years ago. The condition of the rooms are as good as when the hotel first opened. I love the simplicity of the decor, the gorgeous bathrooms, and the hotel in general. The service at the hotel is generally good.

This hotel is next to the Hunter Valley Golf and Country Club course so it's perfect for golfers. It has a nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and a nice cafe downstairs for lunch. Obviously there are plenty of other restaurants to try in Hunter Valley, but it's good to know you don't have to leave the hotel to get food if you don't feel like it!

I will continue coming back to this hotel.

This hotel is comfortable, clean, and relaxing.

Wonderful rooms & excellent pool.

We have stayed here a few times now and won't hesitate to return. The rooms can be expensive, especially if there is a special event on (eg A Day On The Green), but unlike some of the other "5 Star" venues in the Hunter this one is basically worth every cent they charge.

The only charge I thought was excessive was the "delivery fee" for room service. There is no need to charge this, particularly when you look at how much basic meals cost.

The bathrooms in the Villas are excellent and the beds are very comfortable.

Unless you want to stay in a boutique B&B (of which there are many excellent ones in the Hunter), you can't go past the Crowne Plaza.
