Stayed here in June with my husband for 3 nights in a King deluxe room. We arrived on a Thursday and I must say even though the resort looked great on the drive in, first impressions weren't that great. We drove up to reception and not a soul in sight - maybe it was because it was the middle of the week? No worries, we got our bags out and proceeded to check in.
Headed to the room, and it was a typical hotel room. Nice big, comfy bed, TV, mini bar, work desk, and lounge chair. Balcony opened out a view of some of the townhouses and the car park.
One of the biggest flaws of the room though is the bathroom. There are several things wrong with it:
- shower without a door - I just don't like this, water goes everywhere and you have to be careful when walking on the tiles
- toilet roll is nearly 180 degrees behind you. You have to stretch your left arm right around to get at it. Very very poor design
- shaving mirror does not even reach the sink. So if you shave at the mirror you make a huge mess
We went to the restaurant for dinner one night and got room service another night. Room service experience was better than the restaurant. I was hoping that the restaurant menu would have more on it than the room service menu, but they were pretty much the same. The price per night included breakfast and this was very good. Lots of choice, hot food, omelette station. cereals, pastries, toast, juices etc. Staff were friendly too.
Overall we had a good stay, and I would probably stay here again if in the area and if the price was right.

We stayed as a group of 6 in a 3 bedroom villa. We were very impressed with the layout of the villa...heaps of space and really comfortable. Great kitchen if you wanted to stay in and cook, but so many good places to eat around that area you would be spoilt for choice. The buffet breakfast was great and you could get eggs benedict or omlette cooked to you liking. The pool looked lovely but there were a lot of kids playing in it. Also, we found the place got very busy on the weekend and it was difficult to get the parking spot outside our villa. Midweek was better. I would stay there again on a Hunter Valley trip and highly recommend it.

We were really impressed staying in a 3 bedroom apartment. The rooms were immaculate and well kept. Facilities were fantastic and included golf, basketball, tennis, table tennis and swimming pool.

Buffet was the best we've ever had. You could order how you wanted your eggs cooked and it was gourmet. Huge selection and all fresh.

Will def stay again!

Had a great stay at this resort. The breakfasts were sensational and staying in a 2 bed villa - superb. Having stayed previously in a hotel room, which was good, enjoying the comfort and size of the villa was great. The villa allowed us to entertain friends and cook when required. $50 for the BBQ hire was a bit rich so next time I will take my own portable bbq.The Golfing was great and the staff pleasant. Book a tour on the vineyard shuttles and spend a day visiting up to 5 wineries, shops and of course Hunter Valley Gardens. Be sure to ask the driver to go to Audrey Wilkinsons wines and Kevin Sobel is great too. Very Good break and a great way to spend time with family and friends.

Room Tip: Stay in a villa if this suits, on the golf course, quiet a nice walk around the resort depending on...

Just spent three nights @ the Crowne Plaza it is such a lovely hotel. The pool is huge. This hotel is in the heart of the Hunter Valley perfect location.

There are two restaurants in this hotel. Breakfast is amazing and you also have the choice of getting omlettes made and can have your eggs in every imaginable way.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza

This is a lovely hotel, set in beautiful countryside grounds with surrounding golf course. The food at the hotel restaurant is tasty, though on the expensive side. Rooms are nicely laid out, with spacious bathrooms and deep bathtubs. The swimming pool not heated.

The main issue with this hotel is the customer service, or lack therof.

On our final morning we tried to order breakfast twenty minutes before it closed (10.30am) but the line was busy. We opted for a callback service, and when the phone rang to let us know the line was free, it continued to ring out. We tried again and still could not get through. When we eventually did reach a person, they told us breakfast was now closed - 10.25am.

On the morning we did manage to get breakfast, they delivered our breakfast with a pineapple juice that was 4 months beyond its sell-by-date. After finishing with breakfast, we left the tray outside, and it wasn't cleared from the floor for 9 hours or so, despite there being a cleaning service still operating a few doors down. Though we had vacated the room and requested it be cleaned, when we returned, all that had been done was the bed made and a replacement of towels. Glasses from the night before still remained uncleared away, the sides hadn't been wiped down, dirty towels were still in the bathroom and it didn't appear that the bathroom had been cleaned either.

We also tried to book late checkout, were told that we would be called back, but no one from customer service ever did call us back.

All in all this is a lovely hotel, set in a gorgeous part of Australia, but it could use some definite improvement of its customer service.

Centrally located for the Lower Hunter Vineyards, this facility is a great base to explore Hunter Wine Country.
The Golf Course was a little rough in patches & with no map of the layout, a few spare balls are needed.
The Villas are spacious & well appointed, & are to be preferred over the rooms where the cost is similar.
outstanding local vineyards include, Brokenwood, Bimbadgen, First Creek, Draytons, Tyrrells & Scarborough.
