I have stayed in this hotel few times, in the room and at villa. Both are comfortable and relaxing. Even better is the wine dinners they hold from time to time. Went to two so far and fabulous both times - wine and food pairing was so great, everything melted in my mouth. Looking forward to the next one!

Room Tip: If you prefer more room, get together with friends/ and or family and get a villa instead.

Stayed for 2 nights including breaky and 3 course diner. The hotel is in an excellent location if you are seeking golf, R & R or like me wish to explore the many wineries right on your doorstep.
The resturaunt was very busy both evenings so booking is advised. My wife had the seafood platter which she reckons was the best she had ever had !!
The wine trail starts just round the corner at the begining of Broke Rd and small group tours can easily be arranged...the lady in the bar went out of her way to give me an assortment of the various options.
Just down the road was a micro brewery and also has an extensive menu should you seek a change from the C.P.

My husband and I have just returned home from an amazing weekend at The Crowne Plaza, Hunter valley. It was the best hotel stay we've had.
Before we travelled I was making arrangements with Lucinda via email for extending our stay and upgrading our room. She was very gracious and Patient with me changing my mind daily.
We checked in on Thursday and everyone was friendly, offered to help with our baggage and such. Our room was fantastic. Very comfortable bed and impeccabley clean. The bath was huge, and a great layout in the bathroom too.
We had room service the first night. Good food, arrived quick.
Buffet breakfast was really nice. Loved the custom egg option. Staff were friendly and efficient. And the buffet was always well stocked. We ate there 3 times.
The pool was gorgeous and well attended. However very cold. It would have been better if they put the heating on.
I highly recommend the cocktails from the upstairs bar, the young Irish bartender is very very good.
The concierge desk was constantly helpful, from organising taxis to booking us a winery tour and checking in advance as to which wineries we would visit to avoid doubling up in our free time.
We ate at red salt on our last night and were very happy with our meal. We had low expectations as a hotel restaurant but it was very nice. We were so disappointed we didn't get the seafood platter. It looked divine.
We hope to come back to the hunter soon and won't stay anywhere but the crowne.

My family and I recently stayed at the Crown Plaza, Hunter Valley. From the very start we were impressed with the friendly and helpful staff. We could not fault our room for space, outlook and cleanliness. Of course we did not spend much time at the hotel as we were there to tour the region. And we could not have picked a better centralised base to tour from. We highly recommend the down stairs bar for a few snacks and a relaxing drink after a long day seeing the sight.

Room Tip: Try to get a villa, they are well worth it.

We spent three nights at the Crowne Plaza in early Sept, as we attended a wedding in Lovedale. I had booked a two bedroom villa, requesting two beds in the second room (we were a couple, one child, and one of the child's grandparents was with us). When we arrived on Thursday evening, we found we were upgraded to a three bedroom (actually TWO three bedroom villas, but that was way too much space for four people!) villa. The villa was spacious, and we didn't have to worry about my mother and daughter having to share a bed for three nights.
We dined in Red Salt that evening, and found the staff to all be very helpful and attentive without being overbearing. My mother and daughter dined there again the next night, and again had a lovely meal with lovely service.
We had breakfast each morning; Friday was delightful and Saturday and Sunday were rather busy. We found the buffet selection was great, a wide variety, as well as unexpected delights (individual packets of gluten-free muesli, the pancake machine, and an array of nuts and fruits for toppings).
Our only disappointment, which we mentioned when checking out, is that we were asked which paper we would like delivered each day when we checked in, but no papers were delivered. Not really earth shattering, but the staff member at the reception desk received our feedback well and said that it would be raised with a manager.

Room Tip: Choose a villa! Even if there's a hen's night in the next villa, you won't hear them!

We stayed over a long weekend and had a great time in the Hunter and at this hotel, despite the torrential rain. It is definitely a summer hotel as we found it hard to do anything whilst it rained (the only pool and spa are located outside), so we were largely room-bound. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, both at check in and the concierge. Room service was also great and not redicilously over-priced as with many 5-star venues. Room facilities were good, the king sized beds were especially comfy! The only negatives would be that our room wasn't serviced until 3pm (probably due to it being at the very end of the corridor), so we had to hang around the foyer for a few hours as we didn't want to brave the rain again and there was nowhere else to go within the hotel. Also, the foyer area is starting to look a little shabby and the hotel should probably look into a refurb considering they are selling it as 5 star. Overall though, it was a very comfortable stay, but would probably be much nicer on a warm and sunny Hunter weekend.

Room Tip: The villas are great in terms of space, but you have nowhere to go if it is raining and the room nee...

It was good to read that you enjoyed your stay in the villa, however it was disspointing to read that your experience with the team with regards to service was less then satisfactory. We hope to be given the opportunity to welcome you back again and improve on your experience.
