“Best in the Hunter Valley”

Hunter Valley Golf & Country Club
Ranked #8 of 20 things to do in Lovedale
Attraction details

Quality greens, weed free fairways and a testing layout. It looks easy ... pretty almost, but beware ... he course will bite you if you take it lightly. There's plenty of water to make one nervous but a great watering hole at the 19th to help ease the pain too. The course is fairly flat so it's accommodating for all golfers whether they want to take a cart or walk. There is only 2 x Par 5's (for the time being) but with a proposed redesign and expansion hopefully that will be corrected in the near future. The Prop shop staff are knowledgeable, friendly and talented golfers in their own right and always ready to help with key pointers for maximising your golfing experience. if you play on Saturday/Sunday there is a courtesy food and drink cart zipping around the course as well. You can stay n play and whilst the golfers will love the course .... partners can enjoy the exceptional heath spa facilities, superb restaurant or laze around the centrepiece swimming pool. Other facilities and attractions include:- segways, kiddies train, outdoor chess, volleyball, 2 x putting greens, Wedding reception and conference facilities, hotel and villa accommodation and much much more .... It is the central point of Hunter Valley Wine Country and readily accessible form the F3 heading north form Sydney via Cesnsock.

Great course
Well presented and well cared for

We were booked in for a group of 16 players for 1:30pm. Received a call to put the tee off time to 2:30. Arrived around 2pm and a big group was playing. We waited and waited and around 2:45pm the first cart arrived back from the big group playing - battery almost dead and staff said it would take an hour to recharge!!! This would make it a 3:45 tee off - 2 hours and 15 minutes late from our booking. We waited a bit longer then approached the pro shop staff who apologised profusely - not good organisation - poor management - lack of organisational skills. WE WON'T BE BACK.

This course is very enjoyable and suits learners to mid handicappers. Par 4's are easily reachable in 2 and the majority of the greens are straightforward..
Low handicap golfers would better going to Cypress Lakes or The Vintage which are nearby.
There is enough water to make the course interesting but high handicap golfers will not be punished unduly.
The pro shop is ordinary and the carts have seen better days but the course is recommended at the price.

Challenging in parts, still nice an green but imagine could get very dry with lots of run in summer. Great service and a fun atmosphere.
