“Tranquility”

We did a considerable amount of research to find somewhere quiet but easily accessible in the Hunter Valley and we found it at Woodlane Cottages. From the moment we booked to the moment we left, our hosts we friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Fantail Villa and we found this to be very comfortable. The fire kept us warm too with plenty of firewood supplied. The villa was clean and well kept and included everything you need for meals. Sue was an excellent host - non obtrusive but there if you needed her.

Room Tip: There is a common wall between the Fantail and other villa but this was not a concern at all.

We were a group of 9 adults plus 2 children. The cottage was fantastic as far as our requirements were concerned. We stayed in Currawong Cottage - 2 queen bedrooms downstairs, separated by two spotless bathrooms (one included a bath). Upstairs we had a sofa bed made up on the landing, with a bedroom (two singles) on one side and a bedroom (large with queen bed and room for a child's mini-bed and a cot) on the other.
The barbecue outside was great. Everything you needed in a kitchen was provided. The only improvement would be better lighting outside.
Insect spray would be handy although mossies were not a major problem - just annoying.
I would be very happy to stay there again...quiet, peaceful, lovely country surrounds.

Stayed in the Fantail Cottage. Everything was catered for, all we needed to bring was food & drinks!

The property was gorgeous, set in bush, and quite secluded. There are only a few other cottages on the property. The salt water pool was very clean & refreshing!

It's a perfect location close to Pokolbin village, wineries, hot air ballooning etc.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at this property in the Kookaburra Cottage. I would not describe it as glamorous however was well situated and maintained and had everything needed to enjoy the weekend. The pool came in handy in the hot weather, as did the air-conditioning. Found it to be good value for money for the Hunter Region

My only recommendation for improvement would be to put an additional TV on the upstairs landing so the adults could have a separate recreational space from the children .

Recommend for a family trip as opposed to a romantic getaway.

We found this nice place to stay at hunter valley.

Slightly off the beaten track, about 2.5 along a dirt road, but with everything you need.

The facilities are good with pool to cool off, which was great.

Cheaper than a lot off other places in the valley.

We found this an agreeable and slightly cheaper alternate to the faux, often ugly, upmarket, wine-country accommodations t'other side of Allandale Road. Comfortable rooms, peaceful environs, and a pleasant vista. Footnote 1: The track that winds off from the back of their Kookaburra Cottage is just as pleasant as the degraded tracks in Werakata NP. Footnote 2: Watch out (early 2012) for the entry road, several deep potholes there.

My husband and I recently stayed here in the Fantail cottage. While nothing flash, it was very comfortable and such a beautiful, peaceful location that it was exactly what we were looking for. The cottage was impeccably clean and tidy, as was the pool which we frequented on the 38+ degree days. Even though the cottage was adjoining another, the design meant it felt completely private - we didn't hear our neighbours at all. I highly recommend this accommodation for a peaceful, relaxing stay close to the vineyards of the Hunter.
