“Oh the serenity”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Cons;
Minimal phone reception (or is that a pro?)
Self checkin via sms with codes - a little impersonal.
No onsite manager/staff.

Pros;
Did I say serenity? This place is full of it.
Elegant, tasteful decor without being ostentatious.
Friendly staff - only 2.
Satisfying and sufficient breakfast.

Other than our room which overlooked the vineyard, the other rooms seemed to overlook the carpark!! Not sure about noise factor or ambiance.

All in all a delightful stay. Would definitely rebook in future.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking vineyard - oh the serenity.

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay in this lovely cottage. The cottage easily accommodates 6 adults, and would be great for families too. The views are just stunning and it's a great location to access wineries and restaurants but still have a rural experience.

This place would be quite tricky to find without a Navsat or map of Hunter Valley. So it' s best that you head for the tourist information at Lovedale immediately for a copy of the map( if you don't have a Navsat). There are only about 6 rooms and a few chalets. Hence advance booking is essential as it is usually fully booked - more so during weekends. It is quiet and perfect place for couples. We were luckynas we were given the only room that faces the vineyard. in the morning we were able to see the kangaroos there. There are numerous estate restaurants to choose from, hence you Ned to have a car to get around. Good value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for the room that faces the vineyard.

My husband and I had a lovely time at Bluebush estate. Firstly, it is in the lovely Lovedale region.
The house is beautifully furnished and decorated. The living room has a roaring fire, there is always the option to make your own coffee and tea with biscuits and you can play your own iPod/iPhone on the stereo. We stayed in the main house, the room was spacious and the bathroom clean and fresh. The shower was hot and strong. The matrass was sufficiently hard, the way I like it.
All doors have key codes, which means you can help yourself in and out and your privacy is guaranteed. We experienced the atmosphere as very relaxed, and the hosts were leaving us nicely to ourselves.
There are plenty great vineyards and restaurants around, all but one or two are a driving distance away - as is usual in the Hunter.

Highly recommendable.

From entering the main gate to leaving our stay was supperb and faultless. The service was amazing especially at breakfast and everything you could possibly want was made available from wine, (which you paid for of course, at extremely fair prices), to ready made meals if you felt like staying in, to bbq and so on. Location was also excellent being right in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine region. The room was outstanding and bed very, very comfortable. Cleanliness was of the highest standard. not a thing out of place and of the highest quality in fittings and furniture. Truely a experience you wont forget. We will be back.

Room Tip: Request room 6 if available as it is on the corner with great views out to the vines.

For my Birthday my husband and I were very happy to stay at the Bluebush Estate. We told the receptionist when we arrived we like to stay in apartment living as it is bigger, but only could find accommodation for 2 in the B&B rooms at the Bluebush Estate. Well we were offered an upgrade in the Chalet, we asked if we could have a look first and were very happy with the upgrade. It was a three bedroom property, with an inviting hallway as you enter, we noticed a lovely games room with a snooker table, great for entertaining and to get you in a party mood. Two of the bed rooms were blocked off, as we only needed one for ourselves. It was a lovely room with a queen size bed, although seemed a little smaller, but it was comfortable with nice bed linen. There is also a single bed in the room, good for those with little ones and an ensuite. All very nice the bed room looks out to the lovely surrounds, where you can view kangaroos - very nice. New owners were taking over the estate, there are a couple of things which could be attended to, nothing that was an inconvenience. People we spoke with who visit often, said they hope that it will not change, with the new owners coming in, as it is a great get away to visit. The person we spoke with visits 3 or 4 times per year for the mid week prices which is great for travellers. Anyway we walked through our property to the living area, which is a lovely big space many lounge chairs, coffee table, big television, books to read, games to play. The dining room is nice and big and the kitchen is very well contained there is nothing that we needed. We bought our own things with us and used them, but did not really have to as even serviettes were on the table. There were nice doors opening onto a patio with a bar and stools and bbq and the other side there was table and chairs. This patio had a lovely outook, open spaces and very nice indeed. We had a hot breakfast the first day for my Birthday, which was HUGE, probably the breakfast that came with our room was more than enough, so my big breakfast was enough to keep me going all day. If you like the vineyards well everything is fairly close to drive to. I do suggest if you want to go somewhere really special, take a little picnic for yourself and coffee, or you can purchase this at the Hunter Valley gardens. What a place to visit, do not miss it. We were treated lovely by the staff and would certainly recommend others to stay at this inviting Bluebush Estate.

Room Tip: Where we stayed was extremely quiet. Those who stayed in the B&B rooms said people coming back...

We had a delightful stay. Very warm reeception by the familty that runs the place which is located on several acres of winefarm. Took a nice walk, saw kangaroos in the backyard by the lake/grapes. Has a lovely snooker room, and several board games in the living area. Played several rounds of scrabble. Owners provide free biscuits/drinks 24hrs, and were v helpful in suggesting places to eat at, and vineyards to see. Rooms were all prettily decorated in homey country style. There was hardly any phone reception, and the wifi was parchy and worked only in the outdoor dining area by the back.
