Owner description: The Tatler Hotel opened in 1902. It was at the Tatler Hotel on the 8th of August, 1907 that J.J. Giltinan formalised Australia's first Rugby League Competition. In it's heyday The Tatler Hotel was a favourite haunt of rugby league players, colourful racing identities, popular radio personalities and the creme of Sydney society. For it's last 13 years the Tatler Hotel was owned and operated by the Izakidis family until it finally closed its doors in April 1986. 12 years later the Izakidis resurrected the Tatler name as a new vineyard in the Lovedale region of the Hunter Valley. The tradition continues..... The Tatler Cellar door looks at the majestic Brokenback Range and has a range of 13 wines available for tasting.

“Lovedale long lunch”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2012

Unfortunately used meals tickets for lunch at Tatler, disgraceful! 3 prawns on a skewer, piece of uncooked fish and a piece of tough, over cooked meat!!!!! This was supposed to be tapas!

“An amazing boutique winery with excellent food and drink, and child friendly!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2012

Tatler Wines was an amazing experience for my family and my self.
Great open area for my kids to run around in and feed the ducks, as well as excellent tapas, and fantastic wine! especially the Rose.
We looked at the accom. for the next time we come up, and it was big, immaculate, and very nice!

I recommend this winery 100%

“Tasty Wines with Great Staff and Beautiful Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2012

You can always find a beautiful Shiraz at Tatler, or if you are a fan of white wines, try the Over the Ditch. Their Botrytis Semillon is unbeatable. The staff are always friendly and good for a laugh. It is usually not too crowded as well which makes the wine tasting more enjoyable and relaxed.

“Superb fizz!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2012

In a hunt for a sparkling wine in teh Hunetr Valley that wasn't wither pink or sweet (or both), we were recommended by one winery to drive out to Taler's and try their champagne method. It turned out teh ncie young man who sent us there made the sfizz, and it was superb. Had he not directed us, we would have bypassed the rather sleek, modern looking winery, and never asked for the champers, which was kept 'under the counter' for those who knew what to ask for! A lovely discovery, and only our next day flight to Thailand prevented us buying more bottles than the two we did!

“Where's the beer?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2011

This place was listed as a place to get a beer, but they basically just serve it and don't actually make it. We did try their wines, but unfortunately I think there are much better places to buy a bottle. The owner is friendly and up for a good chat which was nice.
