We had a choice between Mojos and option 2 (on a Good Friday) and fortunately selected Mojos. It's not so easy to find and we struggled a bit in the dark. However, we managed to find our way and it was a warm welcoming sight on a chilly Hunter evening.

The restaurant was almost full and only 2 staff looking after tables. However, that was no problem and the service was excellent. We never felt we were "waiting". And, it was fabulous to be in a restaurant where we did not have to shout above the music or chatter to hear each other!

Their 2- and 3-course menues are terrific value. We opted for a couple of side dishes to start (salad and wedges - wonderful) and then the main and dessert. A glass of their suggested wine with each course was excellent.

A fabulous evening - and worth the search!!

My third time at Mojo, and yet again a fantastic night. Had the matching wines over three courses.
Blue swimmer crab starter was absolutely delicious. The taste is long gone from my tongue but its still in my head. The beef main was so tender you only needed the knife to cut the pancetta wrap. Really no need for the third course but it was very good. I was getting a bit full by that stage and didn't finish.
For all the excellence and plenty of the food and matched wines, the price was very very reasonable averaging $100 a head.
We have chosen Mojo a couple of times because there aren't many other options in the Hunter early in the week (they're open 7 days), but each time it has been of the best standard, and our visitors have been most impressed.

Lovely surroundings with an unrushed, relaxed atmosphere set the tone for the evening.
I was not dissappointed with either the food or the service, it was all great.
Because they are located in the Hunter Valley the wine list is as good as you would it to be.

First of all: you wont find this restaurant in any of the guides and booklets available in Hunter Valley.... and you won't just pass by it, as there is it rather on the edge of Hunter Valley.

This is definitely a fine dining restaurant; so keep that in mind.
We were there on a Thursday eve; and there were only 3 tables booked (6 clients in total); so there was only 1 staff in the restaurant and only 1 cook in the kitchen. That was no problem btw.

The Menu, which you can find online, had about 4 or 5 choices for a starter and a main. The courses are big enough, so you will be fine with the 2 or 3 course menu.
The dishes were very tasty and had a very nice combination of ingredients. All the ingredients added to the overall taste and were perfectly cooked. The wine pairing, for about 10 AUD per 10cl glass was fine as well.

Having only 3 table in the restaurant (which can hold like 12 -15 tables), did not really add to the 'Vibe'; but that is not something you can do much about to be honest. What I did think which was a bit strange is the following. From our table we could see in the kitchen (there is a window). We saw that the cook/owner had time enough to disappear from the kitchen for 5 -10 minutes at a time. Well, when you have only 3 tables out there and you clearly have some time, why don;t you come out and have a quick chat with your clients. From the 3 tables, at least 1 were returning clients (it was rather easy to overhear conversations, as you can imagine); so, when you have returning clients, it is quite important to keep them happy right?

O yeah, on the Kangeroos. We saw some at the estate as well, but about 3 estates back, there were about 25 kangeroos is a group. So, if you want to see them, just drive on Wilderness road when it is still light, and you'll be fine.

After dinner we went back 2 estates to Bluebush Estate, which was absolutely lovely (and well priced).
