Had a wonderful weekend here, despite rainy weather(so unexpected in Dubai). While the foyer was rather dated the rooms had been renovated and were clean and comfortable, loved the turn down service. Bathrooms were a little old fashioned and need updating but were very clean.Food was fabulous and very good value. Due to weather we didn't enjoy the pool but it looked inviting. Service was impeccable. Disappointed that the wellness center was not functioning, due to the rainy weather (or anytime) an afternoon massage would have been an option. Views of the empty quarter were romantic.

If you want to spend the night at the Liwa Oasis, there aren't many alternatives. So for once we put aside our budget and booked a room at the Liwa Hotel.

To be honest, we weren't disappointed. Check in was a bit slow, but we were offered something to drink while we waited. Even though we had the cheapest room (with a balcony facing... the parking lot), it was still very spacious. And very clean as well. Absolutely no complaints. There was excellent wireless internet as well.

While we spent a few hours at the pool (large swimming pool with comfortable chairs around) they brought a basket of fruits to the room! We really enjoyed the pool area. And the gardens are so large, you can easily take an evening stroll.

As the hotel is located on a hill, you overlook the desert. From the hotel, you can just wander into the desert. The big antenna next to the hotel assures that you don't get lost. Just beware of dune bashers (and unfortunately some trash) in the sand.

Breakfast was OK, several choices although the bread was rather disappointing. Nothing special. We asked for hot chocolate, but appearently it wasn't included in the price.

Parking right in front of the hotel.

Found the hotel fine, no problems, nice high cileings in the rooms, bar pool etc all fine. Staff good too. Have to query the health and safety aspects of having a live falcon in the lobby with kids around - although it didn't seem bothered by the taunts of a squad of about 5 seven year olds, No issues, not bad value I'd stay again. Location fantastic for bashing the dunes!!

We stayed for a couple of nights and after quite some experience of these types of hotel in the Middle East is was mostly as expected. Rooms are quite large and service was ok but all in all nothing special. Very strange that the rooms overlook the car park rather than the pool and dunes. Can't think who thought that was a food idea. That said the patio area is nicely fitted out just strange to look over the cars.

The pool area is pretty tired but at least the pool is head which is nice.

The bar is OK but best to take your own crowd. Prices are high but where else are you going to go? Food was nothing to write home about. Breakfast is functional and does the job. Food options in town are limited unless you like curry, which fortunately we did so it was the better option.

Note that many of the rooms are interconnecting and it does feel like you are sharing with the family next to you. Try to ask for a non interconnecting room.

Great location for the dunes if you don't want to camp. Rooms are very basic and the service is truly terrible (but what do you expect).

We hired one of the three bed villas (with private pool etc) for the second night to celebrate my birthday. Again, when we arrived we were pretty shocked with seemly endless broken light bulbs etc and the total surprise when we asked for replacements. Other not-unreasonable requests seem to throw them a bit (e.g. ice, cutlery etc)

Once the repairs were done, we had a great night and you should not overlook it as an option as its quite cheap.

Room Tip: Closer to one of the additional entrances if possible as it can be a trek.

Great place for a short escape from the bustling city. Ideal to relax and enjoy the warm breezes coming from the desert! The hotel location is amazing and the views are also great! The spacious and clean room we stayed in had just been renovated and ours was still smelling of fresh paint, unfortunatelly the second room we booked smelled of cold cigarette smoke! I was very disappointed to see that guests are allowed to smoke in the hotel, specially in the café, where drinks and food are served to other guests and families with children! I hope they change that soon! All together the staff was very friendly, a bit slow in the café and restaurant, but it fitted in to the relaxing scene! The food was excellent, very satisfying and good value for the price. I really hope we can return and stay there for another short vacation and for sure would recommend it to my friends.
