We stayed at Ficifolia Lodge for 4 nights while visiting the Kangaroo Island. The room we had - one of three 3.5 stars ones there was quite good. It was clean, cosy and overall well maintained. It contained all that we really needed during our stay.
The bed was very comfortable. Maybe that, maybe the quiet location, maybe our exhaustion after exploring the Island during the days and maybe all of the above, but I really had wonderful sleep each night there. Was waking up completely refreshing.
The hosts - Sue and Lynn are very friendly. Had a chat with Sue one morning about what to do on a day and she suggested few things I would not pick up by just reading the tourist brochure. We followed the advise and a result saw some wonderful scenery on the North coast (thank you, Sue!).
The lodge is located in Parndana, which is a small town in the centre of the island. Once we understood the distances to the island's attractions were huge we appreciated it's central location.
In the town it is located just across the road from the bakery/deli, supermarket, the post office, fuel, pub/bottle shop. Each morning we were buying bread freshly baked in the supermarket and coffee. Staff at the supermarket was very friendly and helpul too. Actually I can say the same about all people at Parndana I had a chance to spoke to.

Ficifolia Lodge in Parndana is very conveniently located, just a couple of minutes' walk from the pub (whose fantastic food and customer service I thoroughly recommend), the local fuel stop and general store. The service was friendly. There was undercover parking. The beds were very comfortable, with electric blankets and quality bedding. The living area could have done with more seating given that we were four adults trying to share a two-seater sofa, but the kitchen was very functional, with a good-sized fridge/freezer. Our suite was very clean and quite attractive, in a small, cosy group of four units. My biggest gripe would be the very noisy reverse cycle air-conditioner, but I believe there are plans to fix or replace this, and it did keep the unit lovely and warm. Overall, it was a very nice stay at an excellent price in a lovely town, and we would definitely stay there again.
