this hotel was chosen after reading some comments in trip advisor.
it was a very good joyce - the reception was fine and friendly. a relaxed athmosphere and nice environment made it an enjoyable stay.

we had a room on the ground floor of the hotel which came with a small terrace in front of the pool.
the size of the room was sufficient for a family with a baby, a 7 yr old and 2 adults.
the bathrooms are relatively small with shower only, but sufficient - design is very modern and simple.
all appliances worked to our full satisfaction.
the free WIFI connection was fast and the room had a flat TV and small fridge.
from our room you could not see the beach, but the Athos mountain and into the garden/pool.
breakfast can be taken either on the terrace or in the 1st floor area with a great view over the sea and Athos mountain.
reception area and a small bar have a complete removable glass front.
there is a permanent fresh breeze of air which makes the hot days quite comfortable (in our case 31 - 35 ° C)
a walk to the beach just in front of the hotel takes just 3 - 4 min. - need to cross a small road which is between the hotel garden and the Cielo bar and beach belonging to the hotel.

the Cielo bar is part of the hotel and offers cool drinks and music (later afternoon more like a disco) as well as some food and free sun beds and umbrellas.

breakfast was sufficient but nearly the same every day - well prepared and tasty! would recommend some changes or a buffet to the mgmt.

we all enjoyed the athmoshpere there - very relaxing and easy going while we where taken care of very well by the staff.

i would recommend a sun roof for the parking area of the hotel - the cars park in the bright sunlight all day.

a walk to the nearby village takes max. 10 min.
in sarti you may find a variety of restaurants but i do not find them too phantastic apart from the last restaurant before the old harbor (forgot the name) at the end of sari village - it is specialized in fish dishes and always quite full - terrace is on the beach (20 m from the water)

very recommendable place, just outside Sarti village which is quite noisy - need a quite place? take Thalassa Hotel!

Management & staff where very helpful and friendly at all times - every morning we where greeted with a smile.

Room Tip: if you want a sea view dont take the ground floor. be aware, that the hotel is not directly on the...

Sarti is one of the wonderful place I've ever seen... Very nice beach, warm sea, wonderfull selection for holiday with young kids... Thalassa Hotel is the best choice to stay. We have stayed there for 4 nights, and had wonderful time. Hotel location is very convenient, you can even walk to city center if you want... We'll be definitely going back there very soon:)

We stayed in Thalassa Boutique hotel for 6 nights during our summer vacation (we were in Sarti in 2011 too and decided to go back this year). Sarti itself is a really nice and relaxing little town with a great beach, wonderfull & warm people and nice tavernas. These were the reasons that made us come back this year although we like to change destinations and to see something new everytime.

Since there were no free rooms in the hotel we stayed 2years ago, we decided to try Thalassa Boutique hotel. We took into consideration all the reviews provided by other guests but in the end came up a bit disapointed. It's true that the hotel has a really nice design (very different from the traditional Greek buildings), the view from the balconies is wonderful, it has a nice pool and an astonishing garden in front. However, I don't really think that these things really make up to justify the price difference compared to other hotels in the same area: the room is quite small in my opinon, the room got very hot in the morning, the breakfast is fair but not outstanding, considering the big garden in front of the hotel one has actually quite a long walk to the beach, the beach bar was out of many drinks, the room could have been cleaner (there was too much dust).

Moreover, although the hotel's offer states that free sunbeds are included, it's important to mention that the sunbeds are free at any of the beach bars. We actually went to another beach bar everyday because they had a better menu and there was no charge for the sunbed. Usually the sunbed is free as long as you buy drinks from the beach bar (the same happens on most beaches from Sithonia that we visited).

The one thing that was really annoying and almost ruined our vacation was the grasshoppers / locusts invasion. That big , wonderful garden in front of the hotel was invaded by some huge locusts that were jumping / flying all over . They were really disgusting and every walk to / from the beach was a nightmare. The locusts were even up to 10 cm long and jumped even on us. They were all over the place ( even in the balcony, in the breakfast area).

All in all the hotel is nice, the pictures really make it look impressing. However , considering our experience so far I wouldn't say it's the best one can get in terms of price / quality compared to other hotels in the same area. I wouldn't pay again 90 eur / night to stay in this hotels knowing the alternatives.

We are a couple with one baby, that also happened to be a little ill the first days of our visit. We stayed at Thalassa for 6 days. We chose to be in Sarti so that we are at a nice beach, but also have basic shopping places available (as well as pharmacy).

At Thalassa hotel we liked the fact that the beach is (as all the beach of Sarti) amazing, but not so crowded as the rest of the area, we liked the clean and new areas inside the hotel, the well insulated walls that allow privacy to your stay, the clean pool (although we did not use it, it seemed crystal clean) and the operational facilities inside the room. We loved the afternoon atmosphere as the sun sets behind the hotel and leaved a few lovely hours of soft afternoon pleasure. The beach bar was very good, we used our umbrella every day, the personnel was very helpful and the cocktails tasty!

We were not thrilled with the fact that the breakfast area is in a corner place, a bit left aside, we did not like the morning sun entering everywhere (especially in hot days, it was like a sun attack - on the other hand for some this might be a benefit), the fact that part of the personnel did not speak Greek, the fact that the breakfast was not specified in a catalog or described to us clearly (we were offered a general basic tray, then we checked what the others had, and then requested the same - on the other hand everything was actually very good). Finally, hotel offered meals, but not cooked inside, so time of delivery was a bit slow.

One other thing that had not been clear to us from the beginning was that the hotel does not have direct access to the sea, as we thought, but you have to walk and cross a road. By no way this is considered far, but to us it was not clear from the beginning. Having a little older child it would make a difference to know that there is a road outside...

General outcome, George has made a really good effort to offer something different in the wider area, he seems to have very good will to improve and to offer high quality vacation to his guests, I would suggest the hotel after careful reading of all reviews.

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor. It has no sea view (it is almost level to the sea, but lower than...

We booked this hotel 2 months in advance through booking.com and also had contact with the owners via e-mail for other details concerning the trip. We booked a double room, asking for a double bed and sea view since it was our honeymoon trip.

When we arrived, we were quite satisfied with our room and the rest of the hotel and property. It was a little further from the beach than we expected, but no more than 100m from the room ‘till you wet your feet in the sea.

Design of the hotel and rooms is modern with a great attention to details. Rooms are soundproof with completely private balconies. There is no noise on the balconies as the AC units are hidden. Every room has sliding net-doors for insects, glass door (which when closed automatically put AC on stand by) and two sets of curtains (see though and sun protecting). All rooms are facing East, which means lots of sun in the morning and overlooking the swimming pools and a large grass court with palm trees.

Thalassa Hotel has 8 rooms for 2 or 3 persons on the first and second floor (which are actually ground and first floor when entering the hotel) and 3 family rooms on the ground floor (not visible from the street). Those rooms have direct approach to the swimming pools and don’t have actual balconies but each of them have 2 verandas-patios, not sure how to call it. We occupied a room on first floor, with twin beds pulled together making it a king sized double (that wasn’t bad because the beds didn’t form any kind of gap in between, they fit together perfectly). We had a large bathroom (not all of them are that big) and no extra bed in the room (other rooms have 3 beds). I guess that was because of our request – we are thankful for that (or it was mere good luck – again, thanks).

On the first floor level rooms is the reception and sitting area (where breakfast is served and all other ordered meals and drinks). Across the reception is an elevator.

Breakfast is served from 8am. It has no time limitations. Standard breakfast includes: two buns with salami and cheese, bread cake, marmalade, margarine (critic: this should be real butter), yoghurt (something like crème fresh), juice, filter coffee with milk, fruit. You can modify the breakfast to your own wishes (lots of people ordered fruit salad instead of buns and instant coffee or espresso). Tip: you can put marmalade or honey into your yoghurt and create great desert! mmmmm :)

In front of the reception (and all rooms) is a pool area with sun beds and umbrellas. After the pool area is grass area all the way to the end of property. In the palm shade is massage corner with a professional massage therapists available on call.

Hotel is very clean, rooms are cleaned every day. Towels are also changed daily and sheets every second day. Swimming pools are filled with salty water and very clean. They are interesting in design and materials used to make them (some kind of stone combined with ceramics).

Staff is nice and pleasant. Owner is also very nice and helpful in every way. One thing that could be improved is putting some kind of shade over the car parking lot located to the front of the hotel (street side).

On the beach, just in front of the hotel, is the beach bar Cielo (which means sky on Spanish and thalassa is sea on Greek) which belongs to the Thalassa hotel. It has free sun beds with umbrellas. It is a bit on the pricy side comparing it with same kind of bar in Toroni (50km from Sarti). But the music is relaxing and summery, staff is nice, beach is great… Sea is clean and sand is everywhere. Across the beach is wonderful view of the Athos mountain.

Overall, we recommend this hotel to everyone who like to be on a quieter location but near the village (Sarti in this case), who appreciates a great view, proximity of the beach and demands excellent service.
