One of the most beautiful places to visit in Cape Town. If you can, do some of the hiking trails. The walk to the old lighthouse is easy, the walk between Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope is beautiful, but more demanding.

We took the long walk up the mountain to the lighthouse. What an invigorating physical exercise and what great views!!! The clear blue seas below the mountain are eye candy.

For those who are not keen on the walk, or those with physical infirmities, there is the funicular tram car that takes people up and down the mountain for a fee.

There are lots of lovely views and animals around the area, e.g. ostrich. An excellent place to bring both the young and the old.

amazing place to visit. steep climb, but there is a "train" that takes you up for most of the way. beware of gale force winds in season, and "friendly babboons" rather keep away from them. admission is expensive. we go there when we take our vistors there. the drive to cape point is fablous!

Out of Cape Town, one of our new African employees took me and another work colleague form Norway on a car trip to our goal Cape of Good Hope. Upon arriving we visited the local restaurant and started the venture up to the lighthouse.

Magnificent views from the light house area, big blue waves and nice beaches. But what we wanted to see the most, we didn't, and although we spent all day driving around, hiking around we did not see any wild life with the exception of a few birds. There were no baboons to be seen anywhere.

After my visit to the cape I am left with the following feeling, Nice to have been there and seen it. However if I ever visit South Africa again going back to the cape again will not be on my priority list.

Fantastic scenery, great roads, lovely calm drive. It was really wonderful to see the Indian and Atlantic Ocean meet, experience the thrill of the waves crashing upon the rocks, being able to walk around in the fresh air. We saw baboons, but they were not a hindrance
