Maybe the title sounds bad and maybe it is just another gorgeous view but if you even get the chance to see it it is worth the time and effort.

Well, maybe not quite the end, but the views are spectacular. If you go to Cape Town, you have to go a bit further and see the Cape of Good Hope. Stop along the way and see a statute of Able Seaman Just Nusiance--the only animal in the British Navy to recieve a rank.

cape point is surely one of the main attractions of south africa and therefore it is really crowded up at cape point and down at cape of good hope.
if you are an early bird than try to be there at 8 in the morning when the gates are opening OR try to go at 4 pm than the crowds are gone and you might have a chance to see some of the animals, which are gathering in the sunset - thats beautiful.
the drive to cape point is spectacular, taking the road from cape town via camps bay to hout bay in the direction of chapman`s peak - you pass a toll station (about 35 rand) and the road built into the rocks is winding around the bay - there are stops around to take pictures

So, we didn't realize that there isn't really anything there except for the scenic view. It was very hazy so there was no chance of getting a good photo. Also, we paid ZAR90 each to drive in to the national park. Then when we got to Cape Point, you have to hike up to the top or pay again to take the funicular. We should have done more research. It's a great place if you plan to spend the day in the national park but not just to go see Cape Point!

The tourist gridlock at the point was a turn-off - but we loved the drive. The true tip of Africa is Cape Agulhas - and absolutely worth visiting for feeling the soul of Africa and the true meeting of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.
