“Good but not the best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

The hotel itself was very good. Staff very polite and helpfull. Rooms large and very clean. A couple of areas that need sorting are the deck chairs and loungers around the pool. There are not enough and people put down towels at 0800 and only use them part of the day. The breakfast is very good with a good selection of food but the food at night needs attention. It is made for the masses and was often dried up. We would recommend this hotel but only on a B & B package.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the sea. Worth the extra cost. Views were outstanding

We spent two weeks (June/July) at this nice hotel in Becici. Very hot 30C+ temps.
It is just far enough away from busy Budva but close enough to walk. Good location with a selection of eating drinking establishments right on the doorstep.

All areas of the hotel are very clean and the beds are big and comfortable. The front desk staff were always friendly, professional and VERY helpful - excellent!

Free room safe and good air conditioning.

The pool is great, very large and always clean with some views overlooking the water.
I was dissappointed to see that the no smoking at poolside rule was not enforced by the staff, especially when the sign clearly states No Smoking. We did have to move away from inconsiderate smokers more than once. There are designated smoking areas further away from the pool.

The dining area is large and we had no problems finding a space to sit. The food was not terrible but not great, (I hate saying that because we really like this hotel). We found the breakfasts better than the dinners.

The hotel's area of private beach (walk to beach less than 10 mins) is large and clean and we never had a problem getting a space, you do have to pay for the loungers/umbrellas.

We would stay here again.

I would avoid Montenegro Airlines. They have no customer service whatsoever. THEY left our luggage at Gatwick, then called it 'lost'. We were without one of our suitcases for 3 days. It was a nice short flight but not worth the grief of the airline and Tivat airport.

Room Tip: Sea view and partial sea view rooms available, beautiful views.

We first visited the Queen of Montenegro six years ago and loved every minute of our holiday. Hotel is very clean, food is beautiful especially the a la carte menu and the staff are very friendly. We returned to Budva in October 2011 and decided to try the other 4* hotels in Beici as we had decided to have our wedding in Montenegro. Although we stayed in two other hotels we found ourselves spending most of our time in the Queen of Montenegro. We had to make a decision on where we were going to stay for our wedding. As a family member is physically disabled we wanted a hotel with easy access and a good level of care from the staff. Although the Queen is on a hill and access would be difficult for someone with a disability the level of care we received here outshone any other hotel we visited. We decided to get married there . We were so fortunate to have our church cermony on Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rocks) and our reception back at the Queen. The reception we got for the full week was amazing. My family member with the disability was treated so well. One day he was getting into the pool and the life guard would not leave his side at first although he could swim. The next day a rail was concreted down in the middle of the steps for easy access. Now I am not saying this was for his benefit but seriously their efficency and eye for improvement is amazing. The waiters would help him out of the seat when they noticed he was moving and the bell boy was so good to him. Even taxis would not accept money off him to go to the beach. Regarding the wedding they truely made our day. The events manager, chef and food & beverage manager all met us before the wedding and everything was so organised. The reception went off flawless, the staff were amazing and the food and beverage manager is a credit to them. He supported us all day. Food was amazing people are still talking about the starter. The effort they went to for our wedding cake at such a reasonable price- Unbelievable. The welcome drinks were on a lovely veranda beautifully designed. I personally recommend this hotel and if you want an amazing holiday in Luxury then this is the place to go. I definately will be a regular visitor.

Spotlessly clean hotel with professional staff. Downside is the long transfer time from Dubrovnik and walk over the bridge to the beach in the heat! We came back with money to spare as there are not many places to wander and spend at night other then tourist shacks on the promenade. Views from the hotel were great, make sure you ask for a seaview room. Pool was lovely but get up in time to claim a sunbed!

Room Tip: With a seaview and third floor or above.

Just back from a great week at the Queen of Montenegro. Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean with great food and lots of variety. The staff were all polite and helpful and the nearby village has some good bars and restaurants. The hotel is very modern with all the things you need. One minor negative point, the pool area is not very big and gets busy during the high season. Typically residents place their towels on loungers early in the morning to secure the best places. Consequently the area is full by 9am. The next option is the hotel’s beach which has lots of space and is clean and well serviced. The hotel charges 10 euros for 2 sun loungers and an umbrella. Not too bad compared to some places (visit Sveti Stefan) but as this is sometimes your only option the hotel should maybe reconsider charging residents for beach loungers.

The hotel beach bar is very reasonably priced for food and drink and Montenegro in general is very affordable to eat and drink out. Go there before the prices rise! Becici/Budva is not what we expected from Montenegro and is more like the beach front at Torromolinos but if you're willing to explore then you will see some beautiful places. The Mediterranean Express bus is great and costs 1.50 Euro to Sveti Stefan or Kotor. I would definitely recommend Kotor and Perast, both very beautiful and more of what we expected Montenegro to look like. I would recommend the Queen of Montenegro as a base for exploring Montenegro but it is also very relaxing and a great hotel in its own right. One tip, do not worry about needing to pay extra for a sea view. The balconies are very small and although the view is lovely the garden/mountain view out the back of the hotel is just as good. A lovely holiday and would definitely recommend a visit to this hotel and the country of Montenegro.

Room Tip: do not worry about needing to pay extra for a sea view. The balconies are very small and although t...

My husband and I spent 2 great weeks at the Q of M returning home 07 July. We had paid extra for a sea view room and it was worth every penny to be able to wake up and look out over the beautiful bay. We also liked the little touch of the stars on the bedroom ceiling, never encountered this before in a hotel. The rooms were very clean and well looked after as was the whole hotel. The staff were very efficient and we were particularly impressed my the restaurant manager who mucked in clearing and laying tables rather than just standing around delegating. The food was varied enough for us with quite a good selection of good food. In the restaurant look out for Marina who always had a smile for us. The hotel is well positioned between Budva and Sveti Stefan which both can be reached by the Mediteran bus that runs along the main road between the 2. The bus costs 1.5 euro each wherever you go along the route but sometimes the local taxis will take you for the same price, but beware that coming back from Budva in a taxi will cost you 7 euro. Sveti Stefan is worth going to see however you cannot actually go over to the island as it is a private hotel. Both Kotor and Lake Skadar are good places to visit and we would have gone out and about more if it had not been nearly 40 degrees the second week, too hot for walking around in. The pool area is not large and there are more deck chairs than sun beds so if you want a sun bed you need to get out there early. The beach is fine shingle and quite rough under foot so make sure that you have either reef shoes or flip flops to wear to get down to the water. As stated in other reviews there is a charge for using the beach but this seems to be common practice on the beaches in Montenegro. All in all an excellent holiday and we would not hesitate to recommend both the Hotel and the country but would say go sooner rather than later before if gets too touristy. Last bit of advise is to go in September as the sea is warmer and the temperatures are still good but not so humid that you can't do anything (tip from rep).

Room Tip: Worth paying for a sea view.
