Stayed at this hotel for two weeks during June on a SAGA holiday,we were met at reception by our rep Janina after a two hour journey from Dubrovnik airport with face cleaning towels which was very welcome, the reception staff were very well organised and soon allocated our bedrooms and suit cases soon followed. The bedroom i had with all amenities over looked the swimming pool with a narrow balcony which was indicated in the brochure,it was a fair size room very clean there is a safe which is free to use and can just about get an I Pad in,The only problem with the bedroom is the corner of the beds which are quite sharp if you manage to catch them which i did several times The bathroom was also very clean with plenty of towels which were changed quite often there is also a walk in shower. The meals are buffet style not really u,k type meals but could always find some thing to eat ,and the staff were forever refilling dishes when they be came empty the only down side there wasn't any ice cream. The staff were all very friendly and never seem to stop working all knowing what they had to do,really good. The swimming pool is not that big also not heated and is in the shade in the afternoon which is a shame,The beach is 60 metres away and the hotel has its own section and to have a beach towel it cost 50c to hire for the day, just be careful when going into the sea as it is quite a lot of pebbles/rocks and are libel to slip. The SAGA lounge has its own bar where the best barman i have come across with SAGA is Boris a real friendly guy who always has a smile on his face and makes you really welcome that also gos for the SAGA rep Janina who must be one of the best reps SAGA has, always on hand to give information and advise

We arrived late, after the restaurant closed, but the kind staff called and opened it just for us! It was a great deal--for 10 Euros, all you can eat buffet and all you can drink red wine!! Unheard of! Food was good and staff very courteous. The hotel is on the Adriatic, but the beach is all rock. Most of the tourists are Russian. It is a good place for a night or 2, but not longer.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the water.

Large hotel used by several tour operators. Breakfast good but very noisy. Easy access to beach and old town. Standard rooms clean and adequate. receptionist and other staff most helpful and willing to help and advise.

I feel over 50 after this holiday.after stayed there one week with my girl friend we feel older then we are.to start step by step this is a caution to young couples"never choose this hotel" package tours always sell this to over 65 and you even can not imagine what kind of activities are waiting for you.
Hotel stuff!!! Incredibkr insufficient no english, french and some russian. To hard to communicate with them. Of course in addition to this everything is over after23:00. If u want some water even it is not possible, they say "go n take from market" second step is more funny.after u buy water and some additional things from market the word from lobby"hey! It is forbidden to take them to the room!!!!!" I leave the ret to you.
Open buffet(breakfast/dinner) same situation continues here very little english!! And not smiling stuff!! You irder omlett cheese with mushroom, they prepare it with Ham!!!
My suggestion to young couples BE CAREFULL and dont get "Con" by your agency!!

The rooms are fine but none have a bath, all have showers. Staff are all very helpful and rooms kept clean. The pool area is nice but loungers can be scarce particularly when you know who are about. One morning i was up early for departure and although the only day it rained during the fortnight I was there, there they were with towels on the loungers, then back to bed as it was only 6.30 am until breakfast.
The food is terrible and repetitive. This is the only hotel I have been to that never serves ice cream. Even the roast potatoes came out like mash. The restaurant is chaos and you almost have to fight for a table at dinner. The table manners of some of the other diners are disgusting, perhaps they don't know any better.
I would suggest this hotel is avoided when possible.

Recently refurbished to a high standard and kept very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. However, food was very average and lay out of servery was anoyingly inefficent. Entertainment was poor, and at times non existant. Hotel bar shut at 11 and hotel closed down by 11.15. Very diificult to find a sun bed and building blocked the sun from pool for much of the day. Water was consequently decidedly cool. Hotel did have beds on beach about 100 yards from hotel but this was at times very hot in the afternoon. Whilst was were fortunate to have a balcony with room to place a couple of chairs it was clear, most did not. Looked as if you could just about stand on area between the door and the railing. Definately not for those who want to be all inclusive.

We flew to Dubrovnik and were glad to find that trolleys at the airport were free. The journey to the hotel was approx. 2½ hours, including a short ferry crossing.

The corners of the beds in our hotel room were very sharp and within five minutes of arriving I had badly grazed my shin. This happened to several people we spoke to. The problem was that the beds were very long and there was too little space between the end of the bed and the dressing table. The room decor was modern; storage space was okay but not generous. There was no charge for use of the room safe.

The bathroom was modern; the shower was a walk-in type with a waterfall shower head. It was not thermostatic but was easy to control. Hot water was plentiful. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless.

A reading light in our room failed which we reported and it was fixed the same day.

Our room was on the entrance tide of the hotel and there was some noise from access vehicles in the early morning. There was also some noise from the main road during the day but the road was not busy at night. There was free Wifi in the rooms. The sound insulation between rooms was very good. There was television in our room with BBC World, CNN and several European stations.
In the evening there were sometimes long queues at the dining room servery, which couldn’t cope with large numbers of people. This generally happened between 7.00 and 8.00 PM; after 8.00 PM there was usually no problem. All the hotel staff were enthusiastic and efficient. The air conditioning was working and was effective. The weather was hot (approx. 30) during our visit but this may have been warmer than usual for first two weeks of May.

The food was generally very good. There was plenty to eat for breakfast, including fresh oranges and very nice jam; cooked as well as cold meats. The freshly made omelette was very tasty. Orange juice was made from concentrate as was the apple juice. The milk for the breakfast cereals had gone off one day but this was replaced immediately when we mentioned it. Dinner dishes were often quite salty; but the beef and veal were very good. The cuisine was mainly Montenegrin: European in character with frequent use of olive oil, not too heavily spiced; it rather reminded us of Greek cuisine. After dinner, we particularly enjoyed the pear liqueur.

Hotel activities during the week were: early morning exercises, Pilates, pétanque, quizzes, t’ai chi and in the evening: a folk dance display and a film evening. The folk dancing was professionally done and very entertaining. The film evening was good, the film being “The Young Victoria” but it was the same film every week. The second week we were there the film evening was cancelled because the room was being used for a conference the next day.

We especially enjoyed visiting the historic towns of Budva (approx. 30 minute walk or a 5 – 10 minute bus ride from the hotel) Kotor and Cetinj, the former capital up in the mountains. The guides who showed us round the various sights were Montenegrin and were knowledgeable and qualified.

There was a bus stop close to the hotel from which you could get to Budva. The bus fare was €0.5 when we were there but varies during the season. There were good public transport links from the bus station in Budva. The taxi from the hotel to Budva cost €5 while we were there.
The scenery in Montenegro was beautiful and often spectacular. As one guide said: “Montenegro is all mountains and valleys.” To that you could also add: lakes.

There was a good mix of nationalities (mainly European) in the hotel including French, Dutch, German, English, American and Chinese. There were quite a lot of children during our stay and at times there was some noise. Some people commented on it but I think it is true to say that it wasn’t a big problem and it eventually disappeared!

Mobile phone calls to the UK were very expensive: £1.50 a minute for some networks; and our Giffgaff SIM card didn’t work properly. Only one of our Tesco phones worked. The other was blocked.

Protect yourself against mosquitoes – we thought there weren’t any – at first! They weren’t a big problem but they were around even in May.

All in all a great holiday - we would go there (and to the hotel Tara) again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool can suffer from noise in the day according to one guest we met who had her roo...
