We stayed in a beachfront villa, Coral 2, for 10-days. Our villa was a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom with a private plunge pool. It is a very nice villa and I highly recommend it (we found it on VRBO). The resort itself is good sized and lies at the very end of Bucerias and the beginning of La Cruz, so you are actually closer to La Cruz than Bucerias, but still not too far. There is a restaurant on the property that is quite good and reasonably priced (delicious mango margaritas for about $4 USD). Their spa is simple, but prices are excellent (we got a 1-hour massage for $27 USD and facial for $30 USD). And the gym is good sized with good equipment. We swam in 3 of the 8 large pools and all were really nice. There weren't many people at all and sometimes we had a pool all to ourselves. While you could walk the beach to go into Bucerias, we stayed in August and it was HOT so there was no way we could do that walk in the heat. So the only thing to keep in mind is that you do need to drive to go anywhere, but it's not far. We went into Sayulita twice, which only took about 20-minutes and the drive is very scenic and easy. The only thing that would make this property perfect was if they had a small market onsite. And it would also be nice if they rented paddle boards and kayaks for those villas that the owners don't have one for you to use. Otherwise, this is a near-perfect property!

We've been to Punta Esmeralda before, and I'm always amazed at how beautiful it is day and night. The landscape is awesome, the villas and condos are spacious, most well decorated, and the people are friendly.

Best of all? The restaurant!!! The owner of Masala prepares the most amazing food fresh, local, Ye perfect in taste, presentation is 5 star and his staff executes table side service perfectly!

It's pretty hot in July, but the pools are so gorgeous! There's a full service spa and exercise room, too, though walking the property alone is a great exercise!

The beach is wonderful and quiet. The pools are great. It's a wonderful place to get away to decompress. The first floor homes have private hot tubs. If you walk up the beach to the right for 30-45 minutes, you are in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle for dining or shopping.

We absolutely love Punta Esmeralda properties and all the amenities like the Spa, the beach club restaurant, all the pools and the funicular . The views are amazing, the landscaping beautifully maintained and just a bus ride away from...everything. The fish market in La Cruz, the restaurants in Bucerias, Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita... We could stay here forever.

We stayed here for 10 days. The condo is very spacious, with amazing views over the Banderas Bay across to Bucerias. Easy access to taxi and bus. The grounds are very well maintained, and all eight of the pools are beautiful. Upon initial inspection the condo was clean, towels, both shower and beach, were provided for each guest. We had requested that the third bedroom with two twins be made into a king with king bedding. We had been told that this was not a problem but this did not happen until we asked for the bedding on arrival, we pushed the beds together and made the beds but still had 2 twin comforters. There is a full bath off each bedroom, the master suite has a tub which is essentially useless, the faucet fills at the very edge of the tub, if you turn the water on too high it spills over the edge. The shower door is missing and there was white stains down the front of the bathroom cabinets. The second king room had a poorly functioning shower head, Fernando said that it worked fine but we were not satisfied with that and emailed Matt who then instructed Fernando to change it which was done that day. The kitchen has your basic necessities that all function well. The utensil drawer front came off the first time we opened the drawer and we mentioned it to Fernando but the drawer remained off for the entire 10 days. Knives are extremely dull. Kitchen A/C does not work, but the rest of the A/C and fans in the condo function well. When we arrived we weren't satisfied with the condition of the plunge pool on the veranda, it had a green hue to it and smelled swampy. We asked if we could drain it and Fernando said it wouldn't help and said nothing else. We refrained from using it (this was actually the selling feature of the condo) for a few days then decided to drain it. Once it was drained we saw green slime on the sides and in the infinity part so we scrubbed the tub. Before refilling we looked at the filter and it was coated with slimy, green algae. We messaged Matt for a new filter but was never provided with one, so cleaned the old one and refilled the tub. Matt was gracious enough to offer us a free night for all of our trouble but we will not be back to that area let alone that condo so asked for a night refund which was denied. He said that we could have messaged Fernando at any time to have the pool cleaned. I feel as though the condo should not have been rented out with the main selling feature in such a state. It should be cleaned weekly. To add to the awful plunge pool was the patio furniture that was tattered and worn. The beach is smelly, weedy and had a lot of dead fish on it, but once you get about 100 meters away from the resort to the south the beach gets nice and ocean is swimmer friendly. I apologize for the wordy review, I've traveled a lot in my life and have stayed in all kinds of accommodations and feel as though this is the worst value for my money. I certainly don't expect five star if it's a 3 star but we paid 5 star prices for a 3 star. The actual property was the only redeeming feature.
