Wanting to celebrate my mother's birthday, we decided to dine in one of her favourite restaurants. At our arrival there, it took me no longer than a split moment to realise why this was her favourite. No more than 20 minutes away from downtown Athens, and surprisingly easy to reach if you know where to find it, you will have plenty of time to admire the incredible view and the atmospheric architecture from the ouside while someone comes and parks your car by the the time you stop moving.
The inside is even better, of course. After a trip through an entrance that could as well be a 16th century catacomb, which ends to a cellar-bar -whose tender will offer to serve you an aperitif-, you find yourself in a luxurious, atmospheric restaurant with sweet and fragnant air, and hospitable and poite maitres. Just as polite, warm and open-hearted are the waiters, who will be happy to serve you in any way possible. The decorations are so good they momentarily make you feel you're in another world, where everything is beautiful.
Of course, all those would not have a point if the food did not match. Eleas Gi offers a wide variety of all kinds of meals, prepared with the utmost precision and care -but most importantly, with the purest olive oil.
