We spent 4 nights here in January 2014...it was an outstanding stay.
We were greeted by the owner Julia, who showed us our room. It was large and very clean. Comfortable large bed with lots of storage space and a safe for passports etc. A large bathroom with shower/tub. Room was well lite with 2 windows and a set of doors opening to a private patio area. It was spotless through out our stay. The free Wifi worked well in the room.
Location is very good. It was a 180 AEP from the Airport to the Posada via a taxi arranged by the Posada ( it was 200 AEP back at 0530 ). A taxi into central Mendoza costs between 80 - 100 AEP depending on traffic. You are right in mid of the Posadas vineyard and olive grove. Its a 10 minute walk to an ATM and to a restaurant ( Casa Campo ) in Maipu. A number of wineries are within cycling distance if you are so inclined. We did not have a car and never missed it..we taxied or walked
A breakfast is included...fairly standard offerings ....cheese, ham, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals , fresh orange juice and eggs cooked on request. There is no lunch service at the hotel. We had all our dinners at the hotel. Three nights we had the light option...enormous green salad ( lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, red cabbage, radishes etc ) plus empanadas or quesedeas and then dessert. This was 30USD per person and certainly met our needs. The 4th night we had the 40 USD dinners which was salad, a ham/melon starter, steak entree and then dessert. It was excellent. Everything was fresh and local. Salad fixings were picked for Posada's garden minuted before eating. Wine/Beer is also available. Service was efficient and very friendly .
The staff at the Posada were outstanding and very very helpful. Carolina and Paula in the front office could not do enough for us. Carolina #2 and Monica who did the meals serving were very friendly and efficient. Everyone spoke excellent English and all staff are very very service focused.
We booked a Maipu area wine tour via Carolina. We visited 3 wineries and an olive producer for 800 AEP. It was via a private car and lasted from 1030 to 1600. Lunch and tasting charges not included. Our driver, George is highly recommended...excellent English, very knowledgeable and a very careful driver.
There is a good sized pool which we took advantage of ...it was 35C while were there and it was very welcoming.
Really can't say enough about the Posada and the staff...we felt it was an excellent value for the money spent and highly recommend it anyone looking for an outstanding stay in Mendoza
