I recently booked a trip to visit the vineyards in Argentina. By the way GO and visit the Mendel bodega... You will not regret it - read my other review for further info.
Anyway I ended up here for lunch and had the 9 dish course, it was delicious! Every single ingredient and innovative cuisine delighted my palate and flew me back to any Michelin starts restaurant. Top class!
Perhaps the sparking wine came too early in the pairing but still a wonderful meal and the service was superb!!!
If you are in Mendoza, definitely it's worth the detour!

Thank Salomoi

We were excited to be able to walk in after a wine tour and sit for a weekend lunch. We went all out, we ordered one of the chef's tasting menus with wine paring and one asado with wine pairing. The asado vegetables and salad starters were good, then it was downhill from there. The aaodo meats were cooked so long that they were dry shoe leather. All the meats were over-salted. The wine pairings for the asado, were okay, but not great.

Now the worse news, the chef's special tasting menu missed the mark in every way. The recipes were disjointed and weird. The most laughable attempt at haute cuisine we've ever experienced. To make matters worse, the staff could not keep up with the wine pairing, so we had to wait for the server or her companion to get the appropriate wine. The recipes and dishes were so weird that I am unable to opine whether the wine pairings were correct or appropriate.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. It served us the worst meals we've ever eaten anywhere in Argentina, which we've now visited over a dozen times.

I have eaten at Casa del Visitante twice and was amazed both times. The Regional lunch menu--including bread, empanadas, salad, grilled veggies and freshly grilled meat-- is divine! The wine to accompany is equally as amazing and, bonus, you can ask for refills! All of this delicious food at a very reasonable price!

A few weeks ago I wrote a review for a restaurant in Cordoba saying that it was probably one of the best of more than 50 we had been to in Argentina. It now has a rival. We did a tour of the Bodega Familia Zuccardi about 30km out of Mendoza. This was followed by lunch which had 2 options – a parrillas or a set 9-couse lunch autumn sampler. We decided to splurge and had the 9 course lunch. What can I say? It had excellence written all over it and this included an unlikely onion-flavoured ice cream which was delicious, quail eggs, tenderloin etc. Each course had a wine to go along with it but we declined – we had to drive back to Mendoza and Argentina’s new drinking/driving laws (and penalties) are very stiff. The courses all came in a timely fashion and each course was a work of art in presentation – and in taste. It was definitely expensive (especially since we declined the many wines) but we knew we would never have the opportunity to do this again.
