“Quaint and friendly!”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

Upon arrival Elena was our host as the owner, Francisco, was out of town for the day but we woke up to Francisco making us breakfast the next morning. Both Elena and Francisco were equally helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The fact that they contract with Maipu Bikes and have them on the premises really saved us time! There was an issue with overbooking on our last night but Francisco made arrangements for us to stay at another lodge in Maipu, he and his wife dropped us off and coordinated with the owner so that we'd pay the same price as originally planned. TikayKilla is by no means a 5 star resort but it is comfortable, clean and adorably rustic which is what we expected in Maipu. Oh, and making friends with the dog Suki was really a highlight of our stay! The service and location make this a winning accommodation.

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a month in Argentina - wish it could have been more! Francesco was a great host. We had a fantastic parilla with great steaks from the recommended nearby butcher. Sokki the dog was awesome and one of the most memorable parts of our stay! A fantastic location - relaxing, friendly and convenient!

We loved our stay here, very relaxing and great service. Francisco was very welcoming and helpful. When Elena took over she was equally as helpful! Perfect base to explore the Maipu vineyards on bike, there are bikes at the lodge you can hire too. Would Recommend Casa de Campo restaurant and also Elena's cafe, great teas and cake!

Francisco is an amazing host. Super friendly and outgoing. He went so far as to let us cook dinner in his kitchen, which we enjoyed with him and his soon to be wife !:) A lovely evening enjoying it with them! Great to get the local perspective and get out of the touristy thing to do.

The setting is simply perfect. It's off the main road, but within biking distance to all the major wineries in the area. He even has rental bikes on site, to save you the hassle of arranging the rental yourself.

A must stay! When you go say a hi to the cutest and sweetest lab we have ever met for us!

We stayed at TikayKilla for 5 nights and we couldn't have been more happy with our choice. The lodge is in a great location for all the wine tours. Our host, Francisco, went out of his way to make sure our stay was trouble free. From assisting with renting a car, booking wine tours/taxis/restaurants etc etc etc nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was good and the heated floors in the room were a nice surprise. Soki, the resident dog, is also great to have around.

Baie dankie Francisco!

Francisco is the best host ever. He was very attentive and helpful. We had absolutely no problems booking taxis and visits to the vineyards. He also gave us very good tips about bars and restaurants in Mendoza.

The room is very clean and tidy. Breakfast was really nice. The hotel has bikes for rent.

Totally recomended.

The lodge is located in the middle of the vineyards. Lovely rural setting but with all the modern comforts. The rooms & common areas are simply but tastefully furnished. In a word: rural chic. I cannot miss a special thank to Francisco, the general manager: attentive is reductive to define him. I was sick, he found a doctor and drive me to find an open pharmacy! He got up a crack of dawn to make me breakfast and gave very good advice on things to do!!Thank you Francisco! Amici Italiani questo e' un agriturismo da 10 e lode!Rosy
