Francisco is the best host ever. He was very attentive and helpful. We had absolutely no problems booking taxis and visits to the vineyards. He also gave us very good tips about bars and restaurants in Mendoza.

The room is very clean and tidy. Breakfast was really nice. The hotel has bikes for rent.

Totally recomended.

The lodge is located in the middle of the vineyards. Lovely rural setting but with all the modern comforts. The rooms & common areas are simply but tastefully furnished. In a word: rural chic. I cannot miss a special thank to Francisco, the general manager: attentive is reductive to define him. I was sick, he found a doctor and drive me to find an open pharmacy! He got up a crack of dawn to make me breakfast and gave very good advice on things to do!!Thank you Francisco! Amici Italiani questo e' un agriturismo da 10 e lode!Rosy

We were very happy with our decision to stay in Maipu instead of Mendoza. The lodge is a great starting point for all the wine tours and our host Francisco was amazing. He made sure we were well taken care of and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The heated floors in the bedrooms were also greatly appreciated! If you're a dog lover, you'll enjoy making Soki's acquaintance, perhaps the cutest labrador ever?

Stayed 2 nights in August 2013. The location is fantastic, but the host, Francisco (and his dog), is what makes this place a must stay. He was incredibly accommodating and a high-level of individual service. He ordered us food, made breakfast, scheduled a last minute vineyard tour without any notice, and made certain our stay in Maipu was amazing. The place itself is very quaint, but perfect for the locale. The only negative thing I can say about this place was that we ran out of hot water one day while showering.

Dear Jordan,

Thanks very much for your lovely comment, you've been very kind.

We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and thanks for recommending us...

Regarding Hot Water, it's true, I apologize... every room as individual electric water heaters, and we had a problem with the switch to keep it on. It was replaced. Very sorry about that...

All the best and hoping to see you soon some day!

Best
Francisco.-

We visited TikayKilla for 3 nights in July 2013 and just had the greatest time there! The place is beautiful. The design of the rooms is nice, everything is spotless and a lot of attention has been spent on some nice details. The location of the place, near Maipu, is great for relaxing (it is very quiet and the fresh mountain air is great) but you are also in a great location to visited the wineries (very nice trip) and also pretty close to Mendoza (by bus or taxi). Also, the place has some bikes from one of the rental companies. You can rent them there, so you don't have to go downtown first. We did it and thought the bikes were good, especially compared to other bikes from other companies we saw on our way.

Now, a lot has been said here about the owner, Francisco, and really everything is spot on. He really is an absolutely great guy! Not only a very nice person, but also the perfect host. He makes sure you get everything you want, but is very relaxed about this and never gets in your way, so to speak. He had recommendations for restaurants and bars which you can follow without a doubt. When asking for information before arrival, Francisco was very helpfull and fast to respond. During our stay he was a great host, making scrambled eggs in the morning, letting us join in on takeout food when many restaurants were closed, to give some examples.

So, this is great place to relax or to use as your base for visiting the Mendoza area! Really, stay multiple nights. We sure did and even then difn't want to leave. We would love to come back some day, until then we highly recommend staying at TikayKilla.

And Francisco, if you ever end up in the Netherlands, contact us and we'll at least have a drink together!

We stayed two nights...we're only planning on staying one night but the hotel and town itself was worth staying the extra night. Perfect location (right next to two wineries and the wine museum), good rooms and a very nice host..definitely worth the stay!

Let's be clear, this is not five star, but it is excellent value. Clean, comfortable rooms. Well heated in the chill of winter and a decent breakfast.
But really, the best part of Tikay Killa is the host Francisco. He really cares and does all he can to make you feel comfortable and at home.
He sorted taxis, bicycles, restaurant bookings and anything else we needed. His recommendations for vineyards and restaurants were spot on.
