The Posada de las Minas would be rated #1 in any case, since it's the only dining option one can count on in Mineral de Pozos (others come & go pretty quickly). But fortunately it's an excellent option. Four of us had 4 meals there over a 20-day period on a recent weekend, and each one was first class. The breakfast served to hotel guests is wonderful; 2-3 a la carte choices; eggs, hotcakes, etc.. Other menu options our group tried were the chiles rellenos mixtos (the very best of this very common dish -- no breading on this one), quesedillas w/shrimp & spinach, the chickenburger, the posada salad (wonderful), the filet mignon (very good) and the grilled salmon. Great variety of traditional Mexican dishes and more international choices. Nice wine list, too. Service was good to very good; very gracious staff. And a lovely setting; choices of tables near the fireplace in winter, on an inner patio (cooler) or outdoor patio in the sun. Charming traditional Mexican decor; interesting collection of birds in their cages sprinkled around the property. Their cantina serves an impressive array of tequilas, too; is well patronized by the locals.
