We were 6 of us for a late lunch. 3 of us had the “Toast Skagen” (SEK 79) for starters, which was good, but not enough of the Lojrom (the Swedish red-ish Caviar, which is almost better tasting than Russian/Iranian). One had the 3 kinds of Herring (69), which was very good.
For main courses, we had a couple of Plaice (179), prepared perfectly, a couple of “Fish and Chips” (139), served in “Newspapers”, according to the British tradition and also very good. Both the Fish and the Chips were perfectly done. One had the “Lax-Mix” (179) - 3 kinds of Salmon. Gravad, Cold smoked and Warm smoked. They were all good, but the Warm smoked was divine. After-all, it is at a “Smoke-House”, so it should be very good.
The problem was with the Schnitzel (maybe one should not go to a restaurant which specializes in fish and order Schnitzel!). Apparently it was not well prepared with a foul brown sauce.
As most dishes were served with a large melon segment, the plates were just too small.
The 2 young men that served (for one it was his very first day) were pleasant enough and the longer term employee offered the coffee as a “making up” for the not so good Schnitzel (169).
Go there for the fish!
