Our group of 5 arrived soaked from the afternoon rain on the AV1 to find that our prepaid booking was not known to the owner.
No worries though!
A fire was lit, we were shown to a large clean ensuited bunk room which we had to ourselves, we had long hot showers and hung our soggy belongings around the fire in the restaurant area and settled in for a couple of drinks whilst the booking was sorted out. All was fine in the end and it was no hassle for the management at all.
We dined well that night on our included dinner which consisted of lovely soup, pastas, fresh salads and a superb steak. Breakfast was also substantial and nutritous.
It was certainly one of the nicest Rifugios we stayed at on our hike through the Dolomites and whilst not as spectacular as Lagazoi or Nuvolau, it was in a quiet and pretty setting.
We recommend the place highly.
